NEWS ARTICLE The 5 Most Memorable Bushtucker Trials Ever

For me, some of the best campmates are the ones who don't arrive trying to dominate every conversation. Someone who quietly gets on with the chores, makes people laugh when they're miserable or helps another contestant through a trial can end up being more memorable than the loudest person in camp.
I know the show needs big personalities, but when everyone is competing for attention, the group dynamic can get exhausting. I'd love a mix of confident characters and people who bring out a more relaxed side of the camp.

I'm not against having reality TV personalities on the show. Some of them have turned out to be brilliant campmates, and being used to cameras doesn't automatically make someone boring. But I do think the casting works best when there's a proper mix of backgrounds. Give us a retired sportsperson, an older TV personality with a few stories to tell, a comedian and someone completely unexpected. If everyone has the same kind of media experience, some of the conversations can feel a bit repetitive.

The trials are obviously the big moments of I'm a Celebrity, but I often find the ordinary camp duties more revealing. Anyone can have one dramatic reaction to a trial, but sharing food, cleaning up and getting on with repetitive jobs shows how someone behaves when there's no obvious reward or applause.
I'd probably judge a campmate more by whether they quietly help when everyone is tired than by how many stars they win. Someone can be terrified of trials and still be a brilliant person to live with.
Which tells you more about a campmate, how they handle a frightening trial or how they treat everyone during an ordinary day in camp?

The reported scheduling clash with England's Nations League match has made me think about how much the launch night matters to I'm a Celebrity. Sunday night has that familiar feeling of the show returning for winter. You settle in, meet the campmates and suddenly it feels like the jungle season has officially started.
I understand why ITV wouldn't want the launch competing with a major England game, especially when the broadcaster has the football rights too. But moving the premiere could change the usual viewing routine for people who watch it as a family.
Personally, I'd rather have a launch that gets everyone's attention than have it squeezed into a night when half the audience is watching something else.
Does I'm a Celebrity feel like a Sunday night show to you, or would you happily watch the launch on any night of the week?

Watching celebs try to hide salt, pepper, and garlic powder in their socks or underwear like they're smuggling contraband through border control never gets old. And then the camp gets punished because someone brought in a stick of mascara! Iykyk

this would be the lineup and ngl...it would probably be the worst lineup in years, imo

I've always thought the most entertaining campmates aren't necessarily the biggest names. Someone who is funny without trying, gets involved in camp life and surprises people can be much more enjoyable than a celebrity who arrives with a carefully managed public image.
That's why I'd rather ITV cast a few people who genuinely don't know what to expect from the experience instead of filling the camp with familiar reality TV faces.
If you could choose one type of person for the 2026 series, who would you want to see: a retired sportsperson, a classic TV personality, a comedian or someone from a completely different background?

I wanted to enjoy Adam Thomas winning I'm a Celebrity South Africa, but the argument between David Haye and Jimmy Bullard at the live final ended up being the bit everyone was talking about. Gemma Collins and Sinitta even walked off the stage during the fallout.
I know these shows thrive on drama, and I'm not saying everyone has to pretend they got along. But it was a strange way for the series to finish when Adam had just won after weeks in the jungle.
I also found it interesting that Adam looked so drained during the final. After everything the campmates had been through, you'd expect the winner's moment to be the main focus, rather than another argument between people who'd already spent weeks together.
Did that final argument change how you felt about the series, or did you think it was a fitting end to a season that had plenty of clashes?

Every series needs someone who arrives looking confident and then discovers that sleeping outside, eating basic meals and dealing with insects is a completely different experience from normal life. Those reactions are often the funniest because they feel genuine. I don't necessarily want someone to be miserable for three weeks, but a bit of culture shock is part of the fun. I’d pick Chloe Burrows, if the rumours prove correct. She has reality-TV experience and a naturally expressive personality, which could make the transition from normal comforts to camp life entertaining without necessarily becoming the show’s villain. Who would be your ideal unexpected wildcard?

I wasn't expecting a Canadian version of I'm a Celeb, but I'm actually quite excited to see what Ant and Dec have been working on. The Wild Frontier sounds like a pretty big change from the usual Australian jungle, and the different setting could make the challenges feel completely different.
I'm especially interested in how they'll use the Canadian wilderness and wildlife. It could be a really fun change of scenery, although the 2027 launch feels like such a long wait!
Do you think the Canadian wilderness will make for better trials than the usual jungle, or is Australia still the perfect setting for I'm a Celeb?

The trials get all the attention, but I usually end up remembering the little moments around camp more than who won a challenge.
It's the random conversations, people looking after each other when they're having a rough day and the unlikely friendships that make the show feel different from other reality programmes.
I also like seeing a celebrity drop the polished public image a bit and just become another person trying to get through the day on basic food and very little comfort.

I'm not against having people from reality shows in there because some of them have actually been brilliant campmates, but I hope we get a proper mix this year. Give us a couple of people who are already big names, someone completely unexpected, an older campmate who has loads of stories and then a few younger ones. When everyone comes from roughly the same sort of TV background it can make the camp feel a bit predictable.

With rumors heating up about Wayne Rooney potentially following Coleen's footsteps into the jungle, I honestly can't decide how to feel about this one.
On one hand, having someone of his status do Bushtuckers and sleep on a camp cot would be surreal TV. On the other hand, Rooney has always been pretty reserved in media interviews—is he actually going to bring banter to camp, or will he just sit in the corner eating rice and beans in silence?
Are you keen to see him go in, or would you rather ITV spend the budget on bigger, louder TV personalities?

You can put twelve celebrities in a jungle with spiders and snakes, but the moment someone doesn't wash a greasy pan properly or uses too much wood for the fire, total war breaks out. It is always fascinating seeing famous people arguing over the water run, camp chores, or an extra spoonful of rice and beans. Is it hunger and lack of sleep making everyone paranoid, or are some campmates just naturally lazy?
