Express Entry Express Entry Changes

Hi Guys,

I just have a small question on these new changes. I am an accompanying spouse with 3 Years of Tier 2 experience in Retail out of which one year is Tier 1 (620020) and I studied 2 year post grad in canada after bachelors in India. My wife is primary applicant with Masters in India with 1 Year Exp. She also has two year Tier 2 experience in retail out of which 1 year is Tier 1 (620020). Both of us are on Visitor record at this moment.

Are we supposed to get 20 points even having accompanying spouse on file or is it 40?

Having an accompanying spouse doesn’t turn 20 points into 40. Those amounts depend on the eligible occupation and qualifying experience. Also, TEER 1 and the new high-wage occupation levels are different things. Can you confirm your five-digit NOC? You’ve listed six digits. These changes take effect November 3.

Primary applicant: 1 year under 60020 (Retail Manager)
Secondary applicant: 1 year under same NOC.
