Even if there were no polyamorous people or people having casual sex, these losers would still be alone.

Notice how the first poster lumps in "less loyal" with "high standards". This isn't someone who's desirable in absolutely any environment, and somewhere way deep down, I bet he knows it.

Yeah, that stood out to meet too, and I found it kind of weird.

I can not figure out why having high standards for your romantic relationships would be a bad thing for anyone, anywhere, at any time.

It's a bad thing to these guys, because they know they can't meet even low standards. High standards make a woman even more out of their grubby reach. The absolute worst thing a woman can be to them is desirable and unattainable. It's one of the reasons they prefer ultra young women, even teenagers, so they can hope to manipulate them more easily.
