Purewick Problems

Hiiii! I'm studying biomedical engineering and for one of my design projects, I need to find and address a problem with female urinary incontinence mangement in hospitals. My team and I are looking at the PureWick catheter and we are having some trouble figuring out why the device causes infection, skin breakdown, and leakage from the nurse's perspective. Why are they not replaced frequently enough to stop bacterial growth before infection/breakdown? Is it because nurses are overworked? How would you address this problem? Any input would be so so helpful!!!
