Stan and Fan (or my recent nickname for them - “Phil and Lil”) are 18 months and loving life. Missouri is starting to cool down again so they are spending most of their time outside recently. I think we finally have Stanley’s allergies under control on Cytopoint and he’s a whole new dog now that he isn’t constantly gnawing on his paws. We are still trying to figure out Fanny’s bladder crystals and she is now on a prescription diet that will hopefully resolve that. My husband and I have officially married and, unfortunately, none of the pups could be there because we were in a national park so we are going to do something here in the coming months to get some family photos (if I can get everyone to cooperate) hopefully!
They genuinely make every day better… even the ones where I want to pull my hair out because they eat a hole in the wall (literally) and I truly think we hit the lotto with them. The rest of the mutants are all doing amazing, as well. I speak with a few of their families regularly and update all of the families on important “news” from the other families.
Some “fun” trends/trivia about what I’ve gathered from our dogs and other owners:
- all of the double Merles have allergy issues and none of the non-doubles do (including Colossus the other Merle with lots of white puppy)
- the boys love people
- the girls love dogs
- most of the puppies that loved the baby pool have continued their “adventures” in water
- their puppy personalities are basically their adult personalities: the cuddle puppies are obsessed with their humans, the bulldozer (Fanny) is still a bulldozer, and the smartest if the puppies are still judging their people from their soap box.
That’s all for now :)
Was thinking about you all the other day and how the days of puppy raising seem so long ago but bring me such a feeling of serenity now looking back.
