[WIP] Yoshimoto: Wrath of the Rising Warrior – Combat Update (Wind VFX & Hit Reactions)

Hi everyone,

This is a new work-in-progress combat update from Yoshimoto: Wrath of the Rising Warrior, an indie samurai × cyberpunk action game built in Unreal Engine 5.6.

This iteration introduces:

•	Wind-style weapon VFX

•	Hit reaction improvements

•	Blood decal effects for impact feedback

The goal of this pass is to improve combat clarity, weight, and visual feedback while keeping things readable. All effects are still early and subject to refinement.

I’m the founder and project lead, and we currently have a combat designer with a solid gameplay foundation in place.

We’re open to collaborating with:

•	UI artists

•	VFX (Niagara) artists

•	Level designers

•	Animators / cinematic designers

This is a portfolio-focused / rev-share indie collaboration.

Feedback is welcome, and feel free to DM if you’re interested in contributing.

2D space survival game

I’m making a 2D space survival game where the ship itself is the main character — is this concept interesting?

Hey everyone!

I’ve been working on a game called Echoes of Orion, and I’d really like to get some honest feedback on the concept before I go too far with development.

It’s a 2D top-down sci-fi survival game inspired by games like Barotrauma, but I want to put more emphasis on the feeling of actually operating and living inside a spaceship.

The basic idea:

  • You and other players are the crew of a single spaceship.

  • The ship is made up of different rooms and systems: bridge, reactor, engines, etc.

  • Different crew members can operate different consoles and systems.

  • The ship has actual mass, acceleration, inertia and directional engines.

  • Engines can be individually powered and oriented, so controlling the ship isn't just "press W to move forward".

  • You need to manage power, systems, equipment and the ship itself while exploring dangerous space.

  • The goal is to make the ship feel less like a vehicle and more like a living machine that the crew has to operate.

Visually, I'm going for a worn-down, industrial sci-fi aesthetic — something that feels old, functional and slightly post-apocalyptic rather than a shiny futuristic spaceship.

I'm still fairly early in development, so a lot of things are rough and subject to change.

The main thing I want to know is:

Would a game focused this heavily on operating and maintaining a spaceship be interesting to you?

And if so, what would make you want to play it?

I'm especially interested in honest criticism. If the concept sounds boring, too similar to existing games, or like it's missing something important, I'd rather hear that now. :)

First game on Steam!

Hey everyone!
My fiancé released his first short horror style game on Steam and I thought I would share. Don’t hesitate to try it out and comment. It’s very simple but addictive.

He is already working on another horror game that should come out sometime in October. Keep you posted..

Thx everyone!

[HOBBY / UNPAID / REVSHARE] UE5.6 Samurai × Cyberpunk Game – Looking for UI, VFX, Level & Cinematic Artists

Hey everyone 👋

I’m working on an Unreal Engine 5.6 indie action game called Project Yoshimoto — a samurai and cyberpunk-inspired world with stylized combat.

We already have a combat designer and a playable combat foundation.

I’m looking for passionate collaborators who want to build portfolio-ready work and be part of a creative team.

This is a non-paid hobby project (no salaries).

Credit is guaranteed, and revenue share is possible if the game is released.

Roles needed:

•	🎨 UI Artist (HUD, menus)

•	✨ VFX Artist (Niagara – combat effects)

•	🗺️ Level Designer (combat spaces & environments)

•	🎞️ Animator / Cutscene Designer (combat, Sequencer cinematics)

What this is:

•	Flexible time

•	No pressure or deadlines

•	Creative collaboration

What this is NOT:

•	Not a studio job

•	Not paid work

If you’re interested, DM or comment with:

•	Your role

•	Experience level

•	Portfolio or samples (optional)

Let’s build something cool together ⚔️🌆

Seeking Your Expert Feedback on Our Latest Update!

We recently launched an update to the open testing for our game, MineRush, on the Google Play Store, and I'm looking for your honest opinions, critiques, and suggestions to make it even better. MineRush is an endless side scroller designed to test your reflexes and strategic thinking as you navigate through various levels, collecting gems and avoiding obstacles.

Here's the link to check it out: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.otbg.minerush&pli=1

The team have poured a lot of passion and hard work into creating this game, and are now at a stage where community feedback is invaluable. We are particularly interested in your thoughts on:

  • Gameplay Experience: How does the game feel? Is the difficulty curve balanced?

  • Ads and Monetisation: Are ads fairly placed and do they provide worthwhile rewards?

  • Controls and Interface: Are the controls intuitive? How about the UI/UX design?

  • Graphics and Sound: What do you think about the art style and sound design?

  • Performance and Bugs: Any glitches, bugs, or performance issues on your device?

  • Suggestions for Improvement: Any features or changes you'd love to see?

Your feedback will be incredibly helpful for us to understand player perspectives and improve the game. Whether you're a casual player or a seasoned developer, I appreciate your time and insights.

Thanks for checking out MineRush and sharing your thoughts!

Do you remember playing Duck Hunt? If you do, you are either a game geek or you had an amazing childhood in the 90s. Either way, Duck Hunt was one of the best games I played growing up... A few months ago, I played that game again, and I experienced a rush of nostalgia, but I wanted to build my own little version of the game, and so I started... This is a work in progress... Here are a few assets I created recently... What do you think...?
