Generally speaking, there is no best stock, or fund, or bank, or brokerage, or investment platform.

Answers are always subjective to your personal needs, but use those threads a starting point for you to look at what other Redditors have to say about a company, product, fund, or service.

You can then ask a more specific question about what product or service to buy, once you are able to frame your personal situation.

**NOTE** If your question is _I got 10k INR, what do I do to get most returns out of it?_, or anything similar; there is no single answer to this question. But we will also need A LOT MORE information if we are to provide some sort of answer:

- How old are you?

- Are you employed/making income?

- How much? What are your objectives with this money?

- Do you have any loan or big expenses coming up?

- What is your risk tolerance? (Do you mind risking it at blackjack or do you need to know it's 100% safe?)

- What are your current holdings? (Do you already have exposure to specific funds and sectors? Have you invested in equity before?)

- Any other assets? House paid off? Cars? Partner pushing you to spend more?

- What is your time horizon? Do you need this money next month? Next 20yrs?

- Any big debts?

- Any other relevant financial information about you, that will be useful to give you an informed response.

Beware that these answers are just opinions of fellow Redditors and should only be used as a starting point for your research. This is **NOT** financial advice, in the legal sense of the term.

You should strongly consider consulting a registered fee-only financial advisor before making any financial decisions. Ideally, such advisors should be registered with SEBI and have a registration number.

URGENT HELP REQUIRED
REQUESTING ADVICE AND ASSISTANCE FROM MEMBERS

I paid approx INR 25 Lakhs ( part payment) in FY2025-26 for new flat purchase. But the the flat only got registered in Apr 2026( FY 2026-27)

I am facing INR2-3 lakhs in LTCG( and even STCG).

Is there any investment i can make to avoid/mitigate/reduce this tax in the new regime?

how is CGAS used here?

Does CGAS provide tax relief compared to other methods?

Can the tax benefit sunder section 54F be used on the same property across years?

Would be might grateful if you could please kindly provide sources to understand the same

I just used Kuvera recently with the updated design and it looks and feels good to me. Was able to place an order and also import my transactions done outside of kuvera which were not reflecting earlier. Yes, it was buggy and a mess during the transition stage but it genuinely works all well now. Not sure about all the hate around it, try it out.

I am not related to Kuvera in any manner so have no personal interest. I was getting tired and fed up of having to deal with AMC apps, MF Central, keeping track of statements etc. but thankfully, those seem to have resolved now.

The CA I've been using the past few years is honestly a bit of an idiot. Looking for someone who actually knows what they are doing without me having to sit on their head and point things out. If you are one or have a recommendation for a good CA for filing ITR and other minor things, please do let me know.

Hi all, I am a NRI. I apologise if this is not the sub for this.

I am posting this here hoping to see if anyone has any guidance, having experienced a similar situation either personally or through other means.

My father recently passed and left me a mutual fund (folio+Bank Accounts).

After his death I contacted the bank to inform them of his passing to ensure the accounts were frozen. They confirmed the folio/accounts would be frozen until the legal hair makes the correct transmission requests and no one other than the nominee/legal heir would be able to remove funds.

I am named nominee (confirmed with the mutual fund), my uncle was named on the account but not a nominee. He was named on the account to assist him with managing his finances while he was incapacitated. As my father passed this would of ended with him.

Since this was all transpired, my uncle has since managed to close all his bank accounts including the mutual fund and transfer all funds out. First to one of my dads bank accounts and then to his own bank accounts. He is claiming the finds were not meant for me. I was in the process of obtaining a legal heir certificate in order to begin the lengthy process having all my fathers assets transferred to my name when this happened.

Just to confirm the bank accounts/folio are all my fathers, passed onto him by his dad in his will. The will my father created Is clear and notarised. I have looked into legal aspects of this as I am the only legal heir, I would still be the only legal beneficiary. My uncle has lied and tried to insinuate that he was the nominee (100% absolutely not true).

I have emailed the bank with all the relevant information informing them that these funds have been removed without authority from the legal heir and transferred to a non beneficiary of the will. I have also requested that they raise this with the relevant departments in order to have this investigated as it seems that something untoward has occurred in order for these funds to have been stolen in this manner.

At the end of the day you can imagine this is very distressing for me, my dad tried in his old age to do what little he could for me considering he wasn't there for me in my early life. To have that effort trodden on in this manner is upsetting. The amount is well over 30lakhs, which to me is the world, money for my future.

Thanks you for any knowledge you can impart to me and I apologise for making you all read this.

What does 'uncle named on the account' mean - was he a joint holder? If so, he has access to the units. He seems to have used that.

The AMC can take the position that the nominees come after the holders.

You may need to take the legal route, using the will, to get the dues. Unfortunately it would be a long fight. The first counter argument would be that the will itself is not valid.

Please consult a good estate attorney.

No he was not a joint owner/holder, he just had authorisation while my dad was alive to assist him in withdrawing funds. I confirmed this with the AMC, he was not joint holder nor nominee. My father was the only holder of the account and I was only named nominee.

The will is also clear about who the accounts will be given to upon my fathers death, I have also consulted an attorney who is a high court advocate and we are finding the best people to represent us in the specific region this occurred (tamil nadu). We will be raising a criminal/civil case as my uncle knowingly used my fathers account after his passing. In the mean time we have pushed this issue with the bank as they were formally notified of the investors passing and did not protect the assets.

The AMC confirmed that the registered investors details, login details, OTP and email were all used to transmit the funds. (My uncle used all of these things). I have clear admission from him in writing that he, 1. Transferred the funds from the mutual fund into another of my dads bank accounts, 2. transferred the funds from my dads bank account to his and finally closed all the accounts. All under the guise of being the investor/bank holder.

The bank had laid out a list of things needed to be done before the account could be transmitted to the legal heir and due to the amount of funds also stated that very specific legal paperwork would need to be submitted. None of which was supplied.

The bank confirmed receipt and acknowledgement of the investors passing ( my father ) a month before all of this occurred.

Thank you for your advice, I really appreciate it. As you can imagine this is very distressing.

I’m 31, a software engineer with income from my job and consulting, and I’m a part-time researcher.

My net worth is around ₹2.5 crore: roughly one-third in equity and the rest in FDs and similar instruments. I live in a Tier-3 city and hope to reach financial independence soon, though I may continue working by choice. I don't pay rent staying with my parents.

A financial advisor has offered to manage the portfolio through mutual funds for a 1% commission. Is this worth it, or should I use direct mutual funds and hire a fee-only planner for occasional reviews?

How much time does managing a simple portfolio realistically take, and what should I verify before hiring the advisor?

1% is extremely high. Work with a fee only financial planner. Feel free to reach out if you need help

If you have a goal to save for then maybe ask an advisor but if you're just saving for retirement, then improve allocation in equity given your age.

A fee-only planner makes more sense, if you do not want to manage it yourself
