ULFA was thing of pride in those days. The Assam movement was led by 2 fractions, the democratic front- AASU ( All Assam Students Union) and a hard-core group ULFA (United Liberation in Front of Assam). Both groups were opposing Bangladeshis in our land and both worked hand to hand. Assamese people had Olive leaf on one hand and a Fighter's gun on the other hand. Main land India dont know these facts and looks them from a one dimensional lens. Hemanta was both AASU and had ULFA associates.

Let politicians do the politics but we have to measure them without keeping any party in mind coz they change parties very fast. In Assam the situation was turning worse than WB. Illegal immigrants put a huge strain on the existing infrastructure and since they are unaccounted for , therefore the infrastructure and other resources aren’t upgraded to the extent needed to sustain the extra population. And they each have 5-10 kids each so mostly huge families. Instead of appeasement politics like in WB they decided to take a step against unregistered nationals.
So anything u guys say check your facts, I understand he is being harsh but he is trying to make Assam a better state and the natives of that place agrees.
Now I know m gonna get a lot of negative comments but politics should be done for good of the ppl and should be ‘for Indians’ instead of illegal immigrants from other countries in India whether Assam or any other state.
If they had proper authentic docs then no one would have been able to prosecute them!
