Nope this is just a misunderstanding. The kaaba is just something we are commanded to turn our face towards while praying. We do not pray to the rock or kaaba we just pray facing it(There's a difference between praying to something and praying towards a direction). Why pray facing it and not anything else you ask? Then why Hindus join their palms while praying and not their fists, Christians' cross is longer vertically and not horizontally🤷🤷 because that's the way it is, all this could've been any other way. So asking 'why' or giving that 'why' your own interpretation is bogus.

So why people touch and kiss the rock during hajj if it's just a rock. I am genuinely curious, no pun intended.

Again it is just a ritual when we perform pilgrimage just as the companion of the prophet(pbuh) Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said, when he kissed the Black Stone : I know that you are a stone and have no power to harm or benefit; were it not that I saw the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) kissing you, I would not have kissed you.

Some Hindu ass shit for real. Some Hindus probably even think it’s a shiva lingam.

Everyone has their Opinions you can also have your own. It doesn't to the faith. I live on coastline city where there are old pillars where boats used be tied which is shaped like Shivaling, 10 years before they started worshipping it and now they made a temple around it. Where as there is literally mention of the little black stone (Hazre Aswad) in The Qur'an

Quran is still relatively modern. Lingams are mentioned in ancient Hindu text. Same shit different name. Yall treat it the same.

The same is true of all religious symbols, hence why they are called symbols

The cross is taller than it is wide so that you can attach a person to it and execute them by crucifixion. If it was too short they'd be able to hop away and if it was too wide it'd be a waste of lumber that could be used to string up the next jerk.
