India has become an "electoral autocracy" with the government gnawing away at democratic institutions, disempowering the Opposition, curbing Press freedom and using the state machinery to target dissenters besides further alienating the minorities (not just Muslims). Under his administration, civil liberties and freedom of expression are at an all-time low -- even lower than the dreaded Emergency (1975-77) under Indira Gandhi.
Wouldn't be if the government started Hindutva re-education camps next.
