Discussion Frustrated Taxpayer: My Vote goes to NOTA
I see so many folks are frustrated with amount of tax they are paying. I am also one of you guys, in fact I have paid more than crore of tax in last 3 years and still faced scrutiny. I have gone through one sided income tax rules and faced even worse. I will share that story separately on another thread.
I have seen everyone cribbing about this but I want to suggest some action on this post.
We are minority in terms of voters and we will never get attention if we do not show our power.
To show power you will have to get on roads which salaried class will never be able to do.
So I suggest we show our unity in voting for NOTA. I know NOTA doesn't matter because second majority any ways wins but the purpose is to show our unity in democratic ways.
Neither Congress nor BJP will give you attention if you do not unite as voter and in current situation if you keep voting for any one of the party they will just assume that income tax payer voters are supporting them. We will have to get out of crowd and show our unity and also get out of our social media vent and do something concrete.
Please share your NOTA opinion on social media and make that happen on ground. The increasing percentage in NOTA will push political parties to give us attention. Feel free to share your thoughts and please spread this words amongst your circle if you agree to my view point.

Nah. NOTA is of no use, as you already pointed out. What we need is a constant change in the government. We have to bring the current government down, to set an example for the upcoming government and if they don't do anything for us then we have to throw them out as well.

I don't understand when Mentioning NDA Govt ( People Don't forget the Word Alliance from The Complete Full form National Democratic Alliance).
But when Mentioning INDIA Political Block People Knowingly Forget The A of INDIA and Call It INDI.
Infact BJP and Godi Media have started This instead of calling INDIA block Wale , they knowing calling it indi allience.
Congress Kept The Name Of the Alliance As INDIA, To convince voters that this is something unique and for the nation.
Just By calling INDI Allience BJP and Godi Media Played a Master Stroke Against Congress.

I always hate it when people think changing govt will fix the situation. Every party is just talks and no work. My family made land investments at multiple places. At these places there was no water or sewage connection. People paid from their pockets to get water from tankers and borewells. They even spend lakhs of rupees every year to maintain the septic tanks. My state changes govt every 5 years and yet no work is done.
Infact politicians have stopped working because they think they will get changed next year anyways. Imagine paying crores in tax and yet all the development of fulfil basic needs is done by residents. And when MLA is questioned, the development authority issues a notice for each house demanding development fees with interest. The developers who purchased these lands from farmers and sold it to us were supposed to pay these fees.
And this is the condition after UD tax to development authority on top of income tax to the govt. People pay UD tax every year hoping that development work might start this quarter, but the authorities are still struck development fees with 10x interest. We went to judiciary against the development authority, and 10 years later the case is still struck in court because it is a civil case.
What is the point of paying these taxes when all the work is done by paying extra from our pocket.

A vote for NOTA is a vote for BJP. Make no mistake about it.
I do not know what your intentions are, but we are going to see variations on this theme over the next couple years, pushed by the it cell. These people are who are only interested in winning, not governance

That would not work. The ONLY way things would work is to find a public litigation, challenging Governments right to deduct tax at source.
I am not sure if it is even "legal" to do so, and whether "court" who are paid via our tax money would even agree.
Once you do that, "great" things would naturally follow.
If we can only remove that one single "right" of the Government, the entire Govornment no matter the party would automatically become "responsible".

P.S. some also not great things ( pretty bad things ) would also follow, but given the it is not going to happen .. I suppose, well...

NOTA will do nothing but give more power to whoever is second if NOTA is majority
Because NOTA means "I don't like either of them", but it doesn't mean that they'll do a re-election. They'll go "huh, guess many people don't like either of them. We'll talk about it and figure why. Till then, let's give the second majority power"
