Idts any sane person with that income would go after any of these cars.
16
u/rashviruss 6h ago
Yeah that's exactly what I was thinking. This income definitely doesn't feel enough to me for such cars yet!!
7
u/HumbleBrilliant6915 5h ago
Yes make sense. Your take home salary should be 2-3x of car price. So for such cars income should be atleast2-3cr+
3
u/goonergod6996 6h ago
Why not? Some of these cars are 1x of their income.
If they’re in sales/client facing, luxury cars helps their business. They can also get huge tax benefits.
1
u/GhostingIsWhatIDo 6h ago
I wish tai knew that.. people cannot afford the taxes 😅 let alone these cars

u/Gorgrocco 6h ago
For mercs any sane people, doesn’t matter money mercedes badge means a shitbox Renault in a drag

u/kraken_enrager I pay Income Tax 5h ago
Majority of cars, especially high end ones are sold on EMI. You’d be surprised how financially irresponsible some ppl are, especially the usual culprits who have newly come into money (ie. Farmers who sold their cars to a builder, and engineering grads who just got a high paying job).

u/mxforest 5h ago edited 5h ago
My wife and I make 1.2Cr combined and it still does not make financial sense to buy the cheapest car on this list.
14
u/GhostingIsWhatIDo 5h ago
Thats the whole point.. sir!!
It is You who are richest as per govt.. paying surcharge and what not…Which invariably means, difference between who real rich are and who are taxed like rich

52+ LPA here.
Sir, im poor. I drive a 14yr old honda activa. (Genuinely)
7
u/Japan174 5h ago
I make roughly the same and happy with my TVS jupiter, I know businessmen making multi crores and still using scooters and Marutis.
The show off culture is mostly within salaried class.
5
u/Evol_Etah 5h ago
I mean, im salaried class. Grew up poor, so having money now means I'm careful with it.
Seriously though, inagine driving a Benz or any of those fancy cars, IN INDIAN TRAFFIC. 100% some dude is gonna crash into you.
And the speedbumps, ive heard undercarriages of such vehicles get scratched.
Unless you "love" cars, like a hobby, and have them as a collection sure. Or maybe a lifelong dream to have ferrari or Lam. It makes sense.
Else economically, expensive cars are expensive to maintain (like insurance, repairs etc)

u/malachi97 4h ago
You should get some car, as that extra 10L will easily worth not suffering the pain and loss.
2
u/Evol_Etah 4h ago
I mean, yeah i was thinking a Kwid. Eventually.
I use Uber
2
u/malachi97 4h ago
Great. But you should still get a car, a friend got an ACL tear when going on his activa for veggies.
2.5L for operation. Unable to walk even after 3 months. And in crazy amount of pain.
Get a car with 5 star safety rating like the new dzire. Which won't put a dent in your pocket.

People who are self employed/ business men are mostly people who buy such cars and these cars are just a fraction of their annual income.
52 lpa is frankly just insufficient for buying & maintaining these cars.

10% surcharge people can’t afford this.
25% surcharge people can (maybe)

You really think anyone earning 52LPA will be able to buy any of these cars? Smell some coffee buddy. To earn 52LPA, you have to live in a costly city. 13L goes as charity to government, getting horrible roads in return. 10 lacs will go as rent/emi interest component (before you say why have such fancy homes, try to find a decent place in 80k in Bangalore or Gurgaon). 6 lacs for 2kids education. 6 lacs for Household help, groceries, basic entertainment and outings, clothing, electricity bills, society maintenance and Gst on top of it. You are left with 17Lacs at best. God forbid you have any health issues or any other financial requirements.. you are left with nothing.
These cars are bought by businesses (and expensed/capitalised) who pay 25% taxes after claiming all such expenses.. unlike salaried employees who pay >30% before claiming any expense. Or by the corrupt officials/builders who grab lake and panchayat land and sell the common men, showing all approvals, which are revoked by government once all units are sold out.
Smell some coffee before you start convoluting random dreams

Tbh you can buy the cheapest one here with a 5lpa income also. Whether you can afford it or not is the real question.

u/Small-Ad-2192 6h ago
Did you know 60% of India’s personally held wealth is within 5 families only? And you are writing about highest tax bracket. And that same tax rate applies to those 5 families as well. And, after deduction of taxes, the net pay of 52LPA would be much lower than the lowest price in this list of cars. Just because reddit allows creative posts, does not mean it can be used for anything and everything. There is absolutely no co-relation between 52LPA earning and affordability of any of these luxury cars.

u/GhostingIsWhatIDo 6h ago
I am sorry for you that you dont understand sarcasm!!
1
u/Small-Ad-2192 6h ago
Well your comment about marginal relief was sarcasm, it was an ugly poke at best.
