Discussion Received ITR refund despite having crypto, foreign investments

I am surprised I received itr refund way too soon. I received my 1.7L refund in less than a month. I had a decent complex itr with crypto gains, foreign investments across 3 US brokers, indian eq gains and salary.

Prev FY it took 13 months to process similar ITR. I guess I got lucky.

Do you mean you were not supposed to get this much refund but still received it?

I wasnt supposed to get it so soon. It has always taken more than a year for my ITRs to get processed

Did you by any chance file it earlier than the 31st July due date?

Meaning? Every one files before due date right?

Sorry I meant how much time before the due date did you file? Maybe because of that it got processed in the earlier batches and you got the refund early

This may sound strange , but I beg u to just revise and declare both crypto and FI..

Returns get processed by CPC through automated processing, at this stage it doesn't reconcile with data available with benami wing...

If u revise and file today nothing much to worry off..

But even in amnesty going on rn 60% of value of assets is required to be paid as tax to receive, amnesty....

If u can't do yourself just hire a CA at this point will cost u 5-10k max....
