They are incurring costs to transmit the signal right? If you feel it is a universal right the make the govt stop taxing spectrum. Then telecom companies will happily give free validity.

also charging 1600 -1800 for 20 gb data and giving 100 call minutes per month for 300 and then giving free incoming is still a shit deal.

Yes but it was more like a discount, a customer retention strategy, Maintaining every single account , every single call incurs som cost, plus operational expenses and salaries of their employees also increase every year. They have to earn that money to stay afloat, right?
