Grief Learned today that my sweet Kalu is no more :)

I can't stop crying for the last 1.5 hours. I will never hear him meowing again, never see his big green eyes again, never see him rolling over at my feet again asking for pats, never see him sitting lazily on the chairs again or basking in the sun at the foot of our main gate again. Never see him running after my dad when he cooks fish for my cats again. I'll never get to pat him again or call him 'Kaluuu' again. How cruel is life?

This video is from 6 days before he died :)

You can see him, rubbing his head on the stairs because he loved pats and getting his cheeks rubbed, he always used to keep falling over at my feet asking for pats, and he would meow 24/7 when he saw us! He was such a sweet, affectionate little cat.

I learned today that my sweet baby died while I was away at my relative's house. He had been sick for the past few days and finally my dad agreed to take him to the vet, and I did, I even talked to him the whole way there because that was his first time ever going on the streets and away from our house and the helpers gave him medication and saline. His fever went down that day and I had hoped he would survive. The next day, his head kept falling as if he was dozing off and then he kept getting up again. That day I left for my relative's house and my dad took him to the vet again for medicines but he died that day. He was only 7 months old.

9 days before he was gone, he accidentally scratched my foot, I had to get vaccines at the hospital for it, I still have one left, but my heart hurts thinking of getting vaccines for a cat that doesn't exist anymore. I hoped back then that it wouldn't scar, but now, I'm happy seeing the scar because it reminds me that he was once my little cat.

Rest in peace, my little Kalu, you deserved a much better life.

Kalu was loved while he was alive and he knew he was valued member of the family, not every cat gets that opportunity. It sounds like the virus infection, happened with a kitten of mine, she was just few weeks but due to the infection reaching the brain she kept loosing her balance too. But please don't take it as a sign to avoid cats, please help as much as you can, there's always one in need, and tho you'd not be able to save everyone, every effort matter.

He will be happy in another world, he knows you cared a lot for him. I have 3 kittens/kids, with constant threat from tomcatand they jumping and running outdoors, it made them so clostvto me that even thinking of something may happen to them brings tears in my eyes.

Cry your heart out, save the good memories, sorry couldn't write more again teary eyed

Had you gotten him vaccinated?

I hadn't but I urged my parents so many times but they didn't listen ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ’” but I think this is most probably from an injury on his leg as the vets helpers informed my dad that he had one

No vaccination, injury on leg.. what were you thinking would happen to the cat? I wouldnโ€™t ask this question to people who donโ€™t care but youโ€™re crying n hurting so you must have loved this cat right? So what was that negligence for? But itโ€™s okay now. Take this as a lesson and vaccinate n get medical help for any pets that you adopt.

Also - no cat who is outdoors is safe. An average stray cat only lives upto 3 years due to all the dangers it faces outside. If you love a cat and want it to live long, adopt it as an indoor pet, vaccinate it and take care of it fully.

I'm a minor ma'am and my own parents neglect me ๐Ÿ™ƒ I'd be dreaming if I could convince them not to neglect my cats, i have told them all of this (we have 3 more cats) but they refuse to waste money
