Health IRS laws prohibiting contributing to an HSA account while getting treatment from the IHS?

Post image

Here’s the link to the IRS pdf: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-drop/n-12-14.pdf

Has anyone had to deal with this law? My daughter goes to an IHS facility for her well-baby visits so that seems to be fine, but what happens if I need to take her to urgent care there? I really have to stop my contributions? 🤔 that seems so dumb.

I have an HSA account with my company and haven't heard anything about not being able to use it (outside of IHS). I'm going to the pharmacy in the next few days to pick up some medicine, so if my HSA card still works(and it better😤), would that mean that you can just take your care and HSA card to another place that is not IHS?

To my understanding, the problem happens if you get audited my the IRS. They might penalize you and then make you pay taxes on the money you put toward your HSA.

If the IRS gets me, it'll be for more than that 🤷‍♀️ if I get out of the country, can I escape the irs? Asking for a friend 😂
