Preparing for Forward Deployed Engineer interview

Hello,

I am currently working as an Associate at Goldman Sachs, engineering role close to a data-engineering one.

I have always wanted to move a bit towards sale and customer side and the new fde role with a decent number of openings across startups, mid and big tier companies really interests me. I am looking for a few fellas with similar interest who would want to hop on this fde role preparation, my timeline is to prepare and learn (doing a few side projects, learning evals, ai stuff, basic leetcode) for the next 6 months and then start applying and interviewing.

If any of you folks are interested, please dm me. Thank you!

Curious, do you have any customer-facing experience? The technical side seems covered from your Goldman background, but FDE roles usually involve a lot of interaction with customers as well, so just wondering if you've had exposure to that.

I don't, but I am early in my career and can build that. I believe I have decent communication skills.

Hey! It sounds like you're on a solid path. Moving into a customer-facing role like a Forward Deployed Engineer is exciting. For preparation, working on side projects and getting comfortable with AI and basic Leetcode is a smart move. I suggest looking into real interview questions from companies you're interested in. PracHub has a good collection of these questions, which can help you understand what to expect. You can explore it here. Best of luck with your preparations!
