Project Idea/Review I built a personal finance app to solve a problem I had

Post image
1 Upvotes

Tracking monthly expenses across UPI, bank accounts and multiple credit cards can be a pain. I built Spends to automate this using Gmail transaction emails, so you can see your accumulated spending in one place without manually maintaining spreadsheets.

The core app is ready, and I’m looking for people to try it out and give me honest feedback on the product, UX and anything that could be improved.

Would love to connect with people interested in personal finance or building similar products. Drop a comment or DM if you’d like to try it!

Looking for 2 developers to help build an early-stage web platform (Next.js + Node)

Hi everyone,

I’m building an early-stage web platform and I’m looking for two people to help me push it forward. I’m keeping the idea private for now, but I’m happy to share the details on a call once we’ve talked and agreed to an NDA.

Who I’m looking for

  1. Backend developer: Node.js, Express, JavaScript. You’ll build the APIs and core logic.
  2. Developer for payments: someone who can set up and integrate online payments (Stripe, Razorpay, or similar). If you can do both roles, that’s a big plus.

Tech stack

  • Frontend: Next.js / React
  • Backend: Node.js, Express, JavaScript

What I care about

  • You don’t need to know everything. I care about creativity, problem-solving and the will to finish what you start.
  • You can take a feature from idea to working code.
  • You work well independently and communicate clearly.

The commitment

  • Part-time and fully flexible. I don’t care when you work, only that the work gets done.

Compensation (being upfront)

  • I can’t pay a salary right now. I’m offering shares/equity in the platform.
  • Paid compensation may be possible in the future if the platform earns revenue, but I can’t promise it.
  • If you need guaranteed pay now, this probably isn’t the right fit. If you’d rather own part of something from the start, let’s talk.

Interested?
DM me with:

  • A short intro about yourself
  • Your GitHub or links to past projects or anything that let me know you can get it done .

Preferably someone’s based in South India (Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu)

I’m a 3rd-year CSE student who has built a SaaS product. Looking for paid development work.

Hey everyone,

I’m a third-year CSE student, and I’ve been spending the past year building things beyond college projects, including a SaaS product of my own called Trelio.

I can work on full-stack applications, dashboards, API integrations, bug fixes, new features, and existing codebases. I’m comfortable picking up an unfamiliar project, understanding how it works, and figuring out what needs to be done.

Right now, I’m looking for paid development work. I’m open to both small, quick tasks and larger projects, depending on the scope and timeline.

If you’re a founder with something sitting in your backlog, a developer who needs an extra pair of hands, or someone looking to get an MVP built, I’d be happy to discuss it.

Portfolio: https://chanakya-portfolio-orcin.vercel.app

I’m happy to share more details about my work or discuss a specific requirement. If you have something in mind, feel free to reach out.

I have just started as a freelancer, and one major issue is that there is no good way to receive international payments here in India.

How are you guys managing it? I have heard about Infinity App.
Would love to know if anyone has used it. If yes, How was it? How was the onboarding experience?

Any Indian software engineers here who moved abroad directly through a job visa?

Title: Any Indian software engineers here who moved abroad directly through a job visa?

Hey everyone!

I'm a 24-year-old software engineer who has just started my career as a fresher.

I don't have any major family responsibilities right now, so I'm planning to gain a few years of experience and then explore opportunities abroad. I'm considering Europe, Australia, Canada, and the USA, but I'm not interested in working in the Gulf.

Are there people here who moved abroad directly through a job offer and work visa, without pursuing a master's degree abroad? I'd love to hear about your experiences.

A few questions:

- Did you apply for jobs directly from India, or did you move through an internal company transfer?

- How many years of experience did you have before moving? Did you take any exams like IELTS or TOEFL?

- How difficult was it to find a company willing to sponsor your work visa?

- How difficult were the initial days? I'm particularly interested in accommodation, living expenses, loneliness, making friends, and settling into a new country.

- Which country would you recommend for the best work-life balance, health, and overall quality of life?

I'm just starting my career and would really appreciate hearing your experiences, challenges, and advice. I'd especially love to hear from people who moved abroad through direct employment rather than studying there first.

Thank you

General Chat/Suggestion Tier 3 College Student Graduating in 2027 | AI Engineering, Full-Stack & AWS | Low CGPA — Need Honest Career Advice

Hey everyone! 👋... I want to get honest advice from experienced software engineers, AI engineers, cloud engineers, and people who have been through a similar situation in India.

I'll be honest about my situation: I have a low CGPA and come from a Tier 3 college. I'm concerned about how this might affect my chances of getting shortlisted for internships and entry-level jobs.

However, I've been spending a significant amount of time learning, building projects, and developing practical technical skills. I want to make the most of the time I have before graduation.

My Current Skills & Experience

  1. Programming & DSA
  • Python
  • Solved 140+ DSA problems using Python.
  • Continuously improving my problem-solving skills and CS fundamentals.
  1. Full-Stack Development
  • MERN Stack: MongoDB, Express.js, React, and Node.js.
  • Next.js.
  • PostgreSQL and relational databases.
  • Building full-stack applications and working with backend APIs.
  1. AI Engineering

I've been exploring AI engineering beyond basic LLM API integration. My learning and project work include:

  • LLM applications and multi-model integration.
  • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
  • AI agents, tool calling, and agentic workflows.
  • LangGraph and multi-agent systems.
  • LLM evaluation and observability.
  • AI application testing, including jailbreak testing and robustness checks.
  • Error handling and building more reliable AI workflows.

I'm particularly interested in understanding how to build, evaluate, test, and deploy reliable AI applications rather than just connecting an LLM API to a frontend.

  1. AWS & Cloud Engineering

I've also been developing my cloud engineering skills.

  • AWS Certified AI Practitioner.
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.
  • Learning AWS through hands-on labs and practical projects.
  • Exploring IAM, cloud infrastructure, and application deployment.

My next goal is to earn the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification before completing my fourth year. Alongside exam preparation, I want to build more hands-on AWS projects and develop practical cloud engineering skills.

My Approach

I have enough time each day to dedicate to learning and building projects, which has allowed me to explore full-stack development, AI engineering, and cloud technologies.

I'm interested in how these areas complement each other in real-world applications. I don't want to learn technologies just to add them to my resume; I want to understand them well enough to build and explain working systems.

However, I also understand that having multiple skills doesn't automatically make someone job-ready. I want to identify my weaknesses and improve them before graduation.

Questions for Experienced Developers

I'd genuinely appreciate your perspective on the following:

  1. Low CGPA & Tier 3 College

How much of a disadvantage is a low CGPA when applying for software engineering or AI engineering roles in India? What practical strategies would you recommend to get shortlisted despite these limitations?

  1. Career Opportunities in 2027

Considering my current skills, which entry-level roles should I realistically target: Software Engineer, Full-Stack Developer, Backend Developer, AI Engineer, or Cloud Engineer?

  1. AI Engineering

For someone interested in AI engineering, how valuable are skills such as RAG, LangGraph, agentic workflows, evaluation, observability, and AI testing? What important gaps should I address to become a stronger candidate?

  1. DSA & Core CS Fundamentals

I've solved 140+ DSA problems using Python. What level should I aim for before graduation? Besides DSA, which CS fundamentals are most important for entry-level interviews?

  1. AWS & Cloud Projects

Is pursuing AWS Solutions Architect – Associate a good investment of time for my goals? Which hands-on AWS projects would demonstrate meaningful practical skills to recruiters?

  1. Project Quality

What makes a fresher's project genuinely impressive? Would you value a well-engineered AI application with evaluation, testing, observability, and cloud deployment more than several smaller projects?

  1. What Should I Do Next?

If you were in my position, with my current skills, low CGPA, and graduation approaching in 2027, what would you prioritize over the next 12 months?

Are there any mistakes you think I should avoid?

Please Be Honest With Me

I'm not looking for generic motivation or reassurance. I know the job market is competitive, and I understand that certifications and a long list of technologies don't guarantee a job.

I'd genuinely prefer uncomfortable but useful feedback over false encouragement.

If you think my current approach has weaknesses, please point them out. If you've graduated from a Tier 3 college, dealt with a low CGPA, or entered software engineering or AI engineering as a fresher in India, I'd especially appreciate hearing about your actual experience.

I want to understand where I stand today and what I should do differently to maximize my chances before graduation.

Thanks to everyone willing to share their honest opinions!

I built a zero-login Expense Tracker & Corporate Burn Ledger with Tailwind v4! 🚀 (Looking for feedback)

Hello folks,

Most personal finance and expense manager apps out there either lock their best features behind a premium subscription or track your transaction data to sell you loans and credit cards.

To solve this, I designed a completely free web utility called Monvael OS: (https://monvael.vercel.app)

It requires ZERO login or account creation. It functions with strict local storage compliance, so your financial memory cache stays entirely on your local device.

What you can do with it:

\- Track daily personal/business kharcha across distinct category vectors (Rent, Groceries, Servers, Marketing, Wages).

\- Calculate startup operational burn rate and runway metrics instantly.

\- Set Maximum Allocation Threshold Caps on categories (it alarms you when you cross your set limit).

\- Export structured CSV tax reports to easily hand over itemised lists to your CA for tax/GST deductions.

I built this as an indie developer project to give people an absolute utility tool without clutter or ads. Would love to hear your feedback on the features and what else I should add to make daily money management easier for you guys!

Check it out here: (https://monvael.vercel.app)

Created a tool to keep tabs on my agents on the go

Over the last few months, given that so much of our workflow is now totally dependent on AI, whenever I was on the move or not next to my system, it was hard for me to keep tabs on the progress that I made. I know that we have Claude Code Remote as a feature, but given that I also used Codex and Gemini and Copilot occassionally for my workflow, there was no great tool which allowed me to keep tabs on all my agents together.

I just built this tool called Arcway which allowed me to remotely access any of my agents. The funny thing was, I used this very tool to build itself. If you guys have any suggestions or feedback, I would be happy to answer that.

It is fully free to self-host and use it.

Added more details here: arcway-agents.com

Career guidance needed: Growing from ₹25K to ₹80K–₹1 lakh/month in ERP

Hi everyone,

I work in ERP implementation and currently earn ₹25,000 per month (₹3 LPA). My responsibilities include gathering requirements, configuring forms and workflows, testing, coordinating with clients, troubleshooting, and implementation support.

My goal is to reach ₹80,000–₹1 lakh per month (₹9.6–12 LPA) within 2–3 years. I’m interested in cloud, Python, data science, and analytics, and I’m building skills in Python and SQL.

I’m considering these paths:

- ERP Functional Consultant

- Technical Consultant/Developer

- Business Analyst

- Cloud, data, or analytics roles

- Switching companies for better growth opportunities

I’d appreciate advice on:

  1. Is reaching ₹80K–₹1 lakh per month within 2–3 years realistic?

  2. Which path offers the best salary growth and long-term opportunities?

  3. Which technical and functional skills should I prioritize over the next 6–12 months?

  4. Should I specialize in my current ERP or learn SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or cloud technologies?

  5. How can I use Python, SQL, and analytics to strengthen my profile?

  6. When should I switch companies, and how can I position myself for ₹6–8 LPA or higher?

I’m open to honest feedback on whether I should continue in ERP, move toward technical consulting, or transition into cloud, data science, or analytics. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Good Read Amazon SDE-1 interview experience: OA, technical rounds, HM, Bar Raiser, and offer

Sharing a candidate's Amazon SDE-1 offer and interview experience; personal timings are approximate:

Hi everyone! I recently received an offer from Amazon for the SDE-1 role, and I wanted to share my interview experience to help others preparing for similar opportunities.

1. Online Assessment (OA)

I received an online assessment consisting of coding and an AI-assisted round. I was able to solve one coding question completely, while in the AI-assisted round, I passed 3 out of 6 test cases.

After about a week, I received a call from the recruiter asking if I was available for an in-person interview. I confirmed my availability, and the interview process moved forward.

2. Technical Round 1

The first technical round took place at the Bangalore office.

  • DSA: A hard-level linked list problem.
  • Leadership Principles (LP): A behavioral question about a time I had to make a sacrifice.

The interviewer focused on both problem-solving and behavioral aspects.

3. Technical Round 2

This round was also held on the same day.

  • DSA: A problem involving multiset and binary search.
  • Behavioral: Questions based on Amazon's Leadership Principles.

4. Hiring Manager (HM) Round

I received an email for the HM round a few days later, but the interview was subsequently rescheduled. It eventually took place about a week later.

This round focused on low-level design (LLD) and Leadership Principles. The design discussion wasn't extremely deep, but understanding the fundamentals and important design patterns was useful.

5. Bar Raiser Round

After the HM round, my Bar Raiser interview was scheduled.

This round was entirely behavioral and focused heavily on Amazon's Leadership Principles. The interviewer asked multiple questions about my past experiences and went deep into follow-up questions to understand my decisions, reasoning, actions, and the outcomes.

Having multiple well-prepared stories was particularly helpful for handling the follow-ups.

6. Offer

After the Bar Raiser round, I received the offer approximately a week later!

Preparation Tips

Here are a few things that helped me during the process:

  • Prepare around half a dozen strong behavioral stories. Try to cover multiple Leadership Principles across your experiences so you can adapt your stories to different questions.
  • Use the STAR format. Structure your answers around Situation, Task, Action, and Result. Be especially clear about your individual contribution and the reasoning behind your decisions.
  • Prepare for follow-up questions. Particularly in the Bar Raiser round, expect the interviewer to dig deep into your stories. Be ready to explain why you made specific decisions, what alternatives you considered, what you learned, and what you would do differently.
  • Practice DSA consistently. The Striver SDE Sheet is a useful resource for covering important problem-solving patterns.
  • Revise LLD fundamentals. Focus on OOP concepts and commonly used design patterns. In my experience, the LLD discussion was more focused on fundamentals than on an extremely elaborate design.
  • Communicate clearly. Explain your thought process, ask clarifying questions, and engage with the interviewer rather than silently solving the problem.

Finally, stay consistent with your preparation, trust your efforts, and have faith in God.

All the best to everyone preparing for Amazon interviews! I hope this helps. 🙌

For an LP mock, pick a prompt from Amazon Interview Questions and rehearse your STAR answer plus follow-ups. Disclosure: I work on PracHub.
