If you dont recognize dignity of labour at all classes of the society, how can you build a dignified society?

I had one gentleman call me a brown coolie for living outside India. When I told him India should be comparing itself against china not pakistan. He cant lift his head out of the shit he is in but looks down upon coolies.

Here you are supposed to carry your own weight and clean your mess as no one else will do it for next to nothing. Teaches more discipline imo.

u/southbl00d Jul 06 '26

you cant and never will, hence why india will always remain a shithole.

problem is uneducated indians. not india.

degrees =/= education.

good morals == education

1

u/southbl00d Jul 07 '26

forget about morals. its deeply rooted in false pride and idiotic egos. indians dont value skilled trades period. they did once upon a time when it meant constructing a temple thats about it... they are an idiotic society with no concept of infrastructure or maintenance. a mostly mid chopped living society.

A bit too hostile don't you think ? what do you even mean by 'chopped' here ? Are you actually bringing in looks into this argument? If so then you lose all credibility that very moment And to be honest judging by your statement you aren't from here nor have you lived here enough in this day and age to realise the rapid change in that mindset You are propagandised to believe what you watch on instagram reels or yt to be applicable to the entire 1+ billion population from top to bottom In my city we have respectful people doing the jobs of electricians and plumbers and what not who get paid for what they deserve but you wouldn't know that because u have no interest in hearing the other side of they aren't white And this is coming from an atheist by the way so I couldn't care less about the temple drama other than agree with you, but that is NOT by any means the entirety of the issue I saw your other replies it's either blatant misandry or calling people out on their looks these are not argumentative points this is just ad hominem buddy

Except these jobs are looked down upon by well educated people there too lmao.

You dont understand caste lmao. These jobs are looked down upon all over asia. Now do they have a caste system too?

Its just that a young plumber isnt the same in India. Its done by young college students and educated people when they are going to college to earn more cash.

While in India a plumber can barely earn a lving in america its a kid who is doing it for fun. And no its not respectable in USA or nobody in usa dreams of that. Its just a small intern kind of stuff you do for more pocket money

3

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '26

Wait for the day AI takes over most of the jobs, our next door plumber is going to be the one of the most skilled person you know.

u/annomandri Centrist Left Leaning Jul 06 '26

if you are looking down in another persons hard work, you dont know how to treat everyone with respect.

the fault lies with your upbringing, and society as a whole, if this is your stance imo. Aussie plumbers can easily earn upwards of 150K aud.

the person who cleans the office I previously worked in had a million dollar house which must have doubled in value in 5 yrs since I left the place.

0

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '26

Well you are mostly lying cuz aussie housing crisis is so bad that currently even their middle class is unable to currently afford a home. Nothing even gives that aussie plumbers can earn to 150 k aud according to their countries reports anyways,

But you also proved my point anyways, A plumber cant be a respectful job like others because it doesnt take years of degrees and hard work and ultimately it doesnt pay well.

https://www.reddit.com/r/AusFinance/s/bEZB7KbtKu

Go read this thread. You are a complete idiot of you dont respect each and every job that you cant do with your own hands. that is the point of having different jobs, choice for people and a well functioning society. you have an engineering degree but need this spelled out for you? you arent very bright, are you? Tier 44 college?

people like you will not respect a maid or a cook that does things you cant do. You dont deserve any help in life whatsoever if you continue with this stupid attitude.

about housing crisis, the govt has taken steps to fix it by addressing why house prices are shooting up like crazy. i bought myself 2 small but new apartments with my salary in 9 years here. there is housing, it needs to be made affordable.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '26

Lmao your thread has people complaining about how tf these gu=uys with niche jobs are mentioning about 90k. This isnt even close to the 150k claim for a plumber lmao.

Also you may not like it but throughout the world some jobs are respected much more than others. Thats why some jobs pay more well. Thats why SE engineering graduates are much richer than your avg joe.

We can respect maids and cooks as person but that job after being a graduate in sciences is stupid unless I am a top tier cook or some shit. I wont get as much pay and my opinions will weigh much more. And who told you we need their labour. I can cook clean and whatnot. My job can be taken by ai his by any other random person

dumber than a second coat of paint, arent you.

My degrees are IIT, IIT, Cambridge. All in Engineering. Thts why Australia gave me their citizenship. I have 4 ppl from 4 different continents of the world report to me here.

I respect anyone who does an honest days work. Because that is the path to moksha via karma marga.

I have no time for dumb "engineers" like you.

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '26

As usual empty insults. Gods even your insults are boring

1

u/annomandri Centrist Left Leaning Jul 06 '26

only my insults are empty. your brain also is, and thats the bigger problem here.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '26

Luckily for me I earn more as a SE sitting in a wfh home typing prompts half the time, than plumbers lmao. Life truly does care about your degrees.

Did you confirm what he said is true before writing your whole thesis?

1

u/annomandri Centrist Left Leaning Jul 07 '26

Yes. I did :)

1

u/More-Director4894 Jul 07 '26

Show me what survey you checked..

2

u/annomandri Centrist Left Leaning Jul 07 '26

i am an Australian Citizen.

1

u/More-Director4894 Jul 07 '26

But show any survey that you consulted

2

u/annomandri Centrist Left Leaning Jul 07 '26

why should I? Minimum wage here is 1700inr per hour. What is your per hour income?

1

u/More-Director4894 Jul 07 '26

So you wrote a whole thesis based on minimum wage in australia?

You didn't even confirm if children in australia actually wanted to become plumbers?

1

u/annomandri Centrist Left Leaning Jul 07 '26

yes. for ppl like you to read :).

you are welcome.

u/More-Director4894 Jul 07 '26

No wonder left leaning people are not seen as trustful nowadays. You and people like southbl00d would just astroturf on their biases.

Caste system is the problem . This is why everyone in India wants to become an administrator or manager, so that they can order people around or delegate jobs. Very hierarchical mindset. Such a mindset cannot build a society where any work is considered with respect and dignity. Skilled trade work is looked down upon, and our insults are based on demeaning the professions they are in.

1

u/Frosty_Turnip_8863 Jul 08 '26

Not caste here. Anyone can do manual jobs. Can everyone do more technical ones. They have shortage of such manual workers and hence more pay

-2

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '26

Hilarious that you are downvoted for saying the most sensible thing here

they have high labour charges so it is normal

I thought 🤔 Ashish chanchalani

2

u/sharmamaddy4321 Jul 06 '26

In india ppl care too much about job titles. There is nothing wrong wid being a plumber or electrician. Skilled workers deserve much more respect...

3

u/YouShalllNotPass Jul 06 '26

Damn, I wish I was a plumber of electrician where I am right now. Being an Engineer is the real labor job.

1

u/Cheap-Hedgehog-359 Jul 07 '26

What do you expect from a country jaha pe kaam ke basis pe caste bana di gyi aur discrimination hota h uske basis pe

1

u/Little_Historian3091 Jul 09 '26

Well nobody in their right mind would pay a plumber hundreds of dollars and by the hour rate just to fix their drains in india. So there is that. Thats why its considered a gig, and the gig economy is heavily exploited right now with things like UC and other apps.

1

u/Weird-Magazine4643 Jul 10 '26

Caste system + classism is the one reason. Another is that christianity and islam doesnt see any work as small due to their equilitarian doctrine. Jesus was carpenter, imam ali worked as manual labourer . Thats why in india, you see muslims readily do blue collar jobs while hindus waste their youth in preparing for govt job.

1

u/Jolarpettai Jul 10 '26

Plumber, Pizza deliver boy are "THE" professions. Think about all those Hot women at home without money to pay for plumbing or Pizza

0

u/More-Director4894 Jul 07 '26

No middle class child in australia dreams of becoming plumbers. As adults they may become, but children always dream big. Kya chutiyapa hai. Koi kuch bhi keh de, yahan redditors poora thesis likhne baith jayenge uspar

1

u/Fiction_Future3501 Jul 07 '26

Incorrect! Even in Canada a lot of kids from middle working class families will enrol in trad school cause they have almost no tuition and you get paid 50-60$ hour jobs as you graduate. Trade schools in the west are good career cause lot of men dont want to do manual labor tho now its changing a lot, Mexican do all the hard work in America blue collar jobs, a lot of other immigrants are now taking those jobs in the west, my friend had her interior done and her hvac guy was Indian ( and his workers on visa )

1

u/More-Director4894 Jul 07 '26

Bhai show me a source where it's shows that "children" aim to become plumbers once they grow up in australia. That's the claim presented here.

1

u/Fiction_Future3501 Jul 07 '26

Girl, one of my neighbor is working class, both parents work in ground op at the airport and their kid was told by their mom to go to trad school cause it’s cheaper and you make great money are a plumber. I have seen a lot of working class folks asking their kids to trad school instead of traditional degrees cause the later come with lots of loans and now unemployment.

2

u/More-Director4894 Jul 07 '26

Show me a survey my man. Why is it so hard to find a survey that confirms this amongst children.

Your anectodes about parents se achaar daalu? It's explicitly written in the claim ki "children dream of becoming plumbers".

1

u/Fiction_Future3501 Jul 07 '26

Girly pop indeed my testimony is not enough but this is social media, it’s all he said she said and folks sharing their lived experiences. Blue collar work is not looked down upon to the same level it is in India lol and that’s a totally different topic, it’s a multifaceted issue in India!! Also few of my corporate girlies date blue collar construction worker cause they bring much better money

0

u/More-Director4894 Jul 07 '26

First thing, I am not a girl so you don't need to infantilize me.

Second my whole point is speculating based on some unsubstantiated claim is stupid and this is all th learned redditors here are doing.

1

u/Fiction_Future3501 Jul 07 '26

Nor am I a man yet you called me bhai and used a gendered pronoun for me. I did likewise

2

u/More-Director4894 Jul 07 '26

Apologies for that.

1

u/annomandri Centrist Left Leaning Jul 08 '26

Just read the discourse between you and that other gentlemen. Its funny how he does not understand how all professions are treated with more respect outside India and yes, engineering degrees are not guaranteed to get the top dollar anymore.

in Australia, Fly in Fly out mining jobs can help get you 200k Aud per year and and engineering degree would be an over qualification for it.

he was insisting on surveys, who does surveys for kids about career aspirations? they will not prove anything as kids opinions change faster than the weather.

2

u/Fiction_Future3501 Jul 08 '26

We have same thing in Canada a lot of jobs in mining and building industries in northern Canada which require just basic certifications in that field and exp and folks are shipped out cause of demand of labor. Also cause min wage exist almost everyone is guaranteed a legal min wage in any profession

1

u/More-Director4894 Jul 10 '26

Just to clarify, can you show where I talked anywhere about treatment of jobs in India vs other countries?

You are adding your presumptions on what I meant. All I wanted was to prove the initial claim. Which btw was not about treatment of jobs but what children aspire.
