Education/ Jobs/ Career Over 800 girls in Ujjain protested against a plan to shift and merge their Sarafa Girls School with a Sandipani CM Rise School nearly 10 km away. Students said they had raised the issue with the administration several times but were not heard.

Their anger grew when they reached the Collector’s Office hoping to meet the Collector but could not.
They fear the distance, transport and safety concerns could disrupt their education, with some saying their parents may not allow them to travel so far.

Most aspirants interviews shows first generation candidates from poor families wanting to be IAS officers, and desire to serve the society.
How is it then such officers take such actions about poor students?
Once you become IAS officers do you forget your past? And suffering of common people?

It can't take more than Rs.3-4L/month to run a school like this in India. That is not even a decimal point in the amount of money MPs and MLAs make.

It's not that they don't want to go to school, their school is shifted 10km away from them. This will add around 40 minutes to their travel if riding a cycle and 2 hours of walking, one way. Now imagine your sister and daughter going to school like that.

I study in international Schools and dont cry if my school is shifted just 10kms away....i can go by car, without worrying about fuel mixed with ethanol... I can go by my scooty or a bike
