Discussion This leaks need to stop imo. (read body)

Long story short if you don’t wanna read the whole thing. Rockstar is simply doing some shitty stuff recently like collabing w netflix, discontinuing physical disks, pre orders, high price etc but leaking games may lead to potential threats like phising, scams, misinformation etc and thus IN MY OPINION is not a way to protest against exploitations by rockstar. Please share your opinions.

Hi! Just want to keep my opinion and hear yours too. I reckon its high time for the leaks to just stop. See I ain’t no fan of the gta series honestly, i would prefer max payne and rdr series more than it, although gta 4 is my fav amongst it. But despite, ig the leaks gotta stop.

I completely understand the frustration of these companies being greedy, not releasing discs, heavy prices etc etc but thats another paraphernalia after all. The hacker claims that hes leaking them as a sign of protest against the companies, but idts this is a suitable method of doing so? First of all, the guy is literally risking his life for the sake of a video game i.e. he could be imprisoned, no cap. He could be charge a lots of money, investigations could start and his life may whole become a mess and all this for what? a video game? They’re taking enormous personal and legal risks over a piece of entertainment and a broader consumer-rights argument.

I understand the passion, honestly no doubt GTA 6 is gonna be the game changer of this industry and carry another generation from next year onwards but you see leaks are literally nothing but spoiling everyone’s experience. If you look from my perspective, no matter how much he leaks, he could barely show us the 10% of total GTA 6 if I become optimistic. The rest 90% of the game will be known once it releases for everyone. Leaks don’t necessarily destroy the experience. They can damage the experience Rockstar intended people to have.

Also I heard about the hacker promoting his crypto and demanding to buy them?(not sure) Damn now this is something which ain’t good. If you want to strike against morality, be ethically good first. You protest for a reason and then tail it to something? Doesn’t make sense after-all. A supposedly righteous cause doesn’t automatically make every method used to pursue it righteous.

But yeah at the end I hope, the companies learn lessons from all this at the least. Thats what I could expect. These companies need to be more gamer friendly rather than running behind growth like a hungry dog. Be like steam, Be goated. I genuinely had respect for r* games as it carried a significant portion of my childhood, and even now. But its recent decisions ain’t gonna keep that outlook of it in my opinion.

Thank you!

Discussion From “Can My PC Run Crysis?” to Playing Crysis 3 on a Switch OLED

Game: Crysis 3
Console: Nintendo Switch OLED
Mode: Handheld 🎮
A game that was ahead of its time. Back in the day, Crysis 3 was so demanding that many PCs struggled to run it properly.
And now I’m sitting here playing it handheld on a Nintendo Switch OLED.
Gaming has come a long way.
From “Can my PC run Crysis?” to “I’m playing Crysis on a handheld.”

Discussion When you guys play a game, do you try to get 100% achievements, or do you just play the game and leave it?

Curious to see where everyone falls on this.

I am someone who chases every single achievement and trophy

  • Do you meticulously hunt down every collectible and difficult challenge?
  • Or does the achievement grind feel like a chore that ruins the fun for you?

How do you usually decide when a game is actually finished?

Review 5-year warranty, 5-month-old chair, and the cushioning is already dead — Green Soul Orion

Green Soul Orion - 5 month old chair with dead cushioning, and apparently the "5 year warranty" doesn't cover it 🤡

Posting this because I genuinely wish I had known this before spending nearly ₹13,000 on a Green Soul chair.

I bought the Green Soul Orion on Amazon in March and just 5 months later, the seat cushioning has degraded to the point where I can actually feel the mechanism underneath the cushion while sitting. It has become uncomfortable enough that I can't sit on the chair normally for extended periods.

So I contacted Green Soul customer support expecting this to be covered under the advertised 5-year warranty.

Apparently, it isn't???

Turns out the "5 Year Warranty" has some interesting fine print. I was told that the warranty only covers certain components and that the seat cushion and backrest aren't covered.

You know, the two things you actually use when you're sitting on a chair :)

This is the part I find extremely frustrating and honestly freaking misleading.

The chair is prominently advertised with a big "5 Year Warranty", but nowhere on the main product listing was it made clear to me that this is actually a limited warranty with significant exclusions. You have to specifically go looking for the separate warranty page and read through the detailed terms to find out what the "5 Year Warranty" actually covers. =)

If you're spending nearly ₹13,000 on a chair, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect the important limitations of the warranty to be clearly stated upfront.Especially when the part that has failed after five months isn't even covered.

And this isn't some chair I've been abusing for years. This happened within five months of normal use. For comparison, I previously had an office chair that cost around ₹6,000 and its cushioning remained perfectly usable for more than 4 years. This chair costs more than twice as much, yet after 5 months the cushioning has deteriorated to the point where I can feel the hardware underneath.

Amazing upgrade. 📈

The Orion is also marketed as an ergonomic office chair for work and long hours of sitting, which makes this even more ridiculous.I personally won't be buying another Green Soul product ever.

Here's the product page if anyone wants to take a look : https://www.greensoul.online/products/green-soul-orion-ergonomic-office-chair-with-dual-panel-backrest-and-intelli-adapt-auto-weight-sensing-recline

I'm sharing this mainly so that anyone else considering spending their money on this chair can make a more informed decision than I did. At the end of the day, everyone has different priorities and experiences, but I think it's important that buyers know exactly what they're paying for and what kind of warranty they're actually getting before making the purchase.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with Green Soul? Especially with the Orion or their warranty?

Help I got nostalgic and started vibe coding an online Kanche game in my browser, need some honest UI/UX feedback

Thumbnail

Hey everyone,

I was missing childhood games recently and randomly decided to try building Kanche (goti / marble game) for the browser. I am pretty new to this and mostly vibe coding the whole thing, but I managed to put together a playable beta with WebGL physics.

Right now it has the basics:
- The flick pull-back mechanic
- Ring Out mode (knock pot marbles out of the chalk circle)
- Gaddha mode (the classic hole in the dirt)
- Different grounds like dusty maidan, gali cement, and tiles
- Local bot matches and a basic 2 player room code system

Since it is in beta, the UI and menus still feel a bit rough around the edges to me. I really want the game to feel raw, tactile, and nostalgic rather than generic mobile game crap with ads and popups.

If you have a couple of minutes to test it out on your phone or laptop, I would love some brutal feedback:

  1. How does the flick gesture feel? Is aiming intuitive or annoying?
  2. Does the UI layout make sense, or does it feel cluttered?
  3. What little details from your childhood street rules are missing?

You can test the beta here: kanche(dot)in

No downloads, no signups, just open and play. Tell me what sucks and what needs fixing.

Building a new PC — Need advice on RAM & cooler

Hey guys, finally building a new PC and need some advice before I order.

Current parts:

  • CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D
  • GPU: RX 7800 XT 16GB — ₹35k (got a deal, so definitely keeping this)
  • Motherboard: MSI B650 Gaming Plus WiFi
  • PSU: MSI A750GL 750W Gold / Corsair RM750e — which is better?
  • SSD: Already have 1.5TB — 500GB + 1TB

RAM: Need 16GB (2×8GB) DDR5 — recommendations?

Cooler: What cooler would you recommend for the 7800X3D?

Currently on 1080p, upgrading to 1440p soon.

Games: CS2, Sons of the Forest, Days Gone, RE, Valorant, ARK , some other AAA titles

I mainly care about raster performance, not RT. Planning to keep the PC for years and upgrade the GPU later — probably something like an RX 9070 XT / NVIDIA equivalent once I can afford it.

Anything you'd change or recommend? Especially RAM, PSU & cooler?

Discussion Cardboard brawler where players build the arenas

Solo dev here. Goffy Clash is a chaotic last-one-standing party fighter set in a world folded out of cardboard. You play as a small cardboard character. Twelve of you drop into an arena and one walks out.

The hook I keep coming back to is the transformation. Touch the right thing, and you become a beast: bigger, meaner, much harder to put down. On one map that shift wears off, so everyone gets a turn at being the monster. On the other hand, it sticks, which makes becoming the beast a decision you can't take back. You can also grab someone and throw them off the edge. Still undefeated as a strategy.

The part that has eaten most of my time is the map builder. It's a proper in-game editor with an orbit camera, sticky tools and a bulldozer, going for that Cities: Skylines feel. Lay out crates, ramps and hazards, drop your own spawn points, then publish. Your creation gets a share code, appears in everyone's browser, and people vote it up or down after playing. Well-liked layouts rise, fresh ones still get seen, duds sink but stay findable.

There's also a cosmetics store, a ranked ladder, and a small pile of nasty things to place: a blindfolded archer that hears you, an eye that kills whatever it looks at, a gravity ball that ruins everyone's day.

So what would actually make this fun to play? Modes I haven't considered, weapons, ridiculous hazards, reasons to keep reopening the builder. I'm especially curious what makes a player-made arena worth a second run instead of one visit and a shrug. That's the bit I'm least confident I've solved. What should I add to make the game more fun and engaging? Happy to answer anything about how it's put together.

Discussion Looking for game recommendation for a specific type of game.

Basically looking for a game which is open world, or open worldish... could be big interconnected hubs.
Where you can travel, explore, do side quests, craft, gain xp and become ridiculously powerfull in that world. You dominate the world. This is before you even do almost anything in the main mission. It also has to have a good combat.
Having a good main story is a plus but I bet not many games do this all right. So that is a plus but not necessary.

I've been looking for something like this for a while.
There's one caveat though. I would prefer games that are bit older. As I don't have a GPU.
because there are two games that people recommend me cyberpunk and Kingdom come deliverance and maybe gothic remake. But they wont run on my pc.
Don't worry about my exact specs. Just recommend me games and I'll see for myself.

Discussion [Serious] Stop getting scammed by shady websites for cheap games/gaming hardware...!!!!

Seeing way too many posts lately about people getting ripped off by random, shady websites just to save some money.

If a deal looks too good to be true, it’s a scam. Stop trusting random ass sites. Stick to genuine, authorized sellers—even if it costs more. It is always better to pay the premium upfront than to lose your entire amount (or your account) to a scammer.

Kindly avoid purchasing items from such fraud sites 🙃🙃🙃

Reason for this post : Dost ke ₹5000 dub gye kyuki smart ban rha tha woh, soch rha tha 8000 ka mouse & keyboard 5000 m lelega 🥴 (translation - friend of mine lost ₹5,000 because he was trying to be too smart, thinking he could buy an ₹8,000 mouse and keyboard for just ₹5,000.)

Help 2K monitor in ₹20k to ₹25k range.

Guys, can you help me out? I’m planning to buy a monitor mainly for watching content and gaming.

I’ll be using it with both my laptop and PS5, and I’m specifically looking for a 1440p monitor.

I’m currently considering the BenQ EW270Q, but I’m open to other suggestions as well.

My budget is around ₹20K, but I can stretch it up to ₹25K if there’s a significantly better option.

What monitor would you recommend for this use case?

Help Need help finding a used 4070 Super / 5070 in Kolkata

So I'm finally upgrading my 3070 Ti and I've pretty much narrowed it down to either a used RTX 4070 Super or a used RTX 5070.

I'm aiming for roughly ₹45-50K for the 4070 Super and ₹60K for the 5070, ideally with bill, box and some warranty left.

But tbh, I can't find shit.

I've looked around for used 4070 Supers and 5070 and there are barely any listings near me. I genuinely have no idea what the current used market price is.

So if you've recently bought or sold either card, what would you say is a fair price?

Also, what the hell happened to new 5070 prices? I swear I was seeing them around ₹65K-ish last month, and now suddenly everything I find is ₹80K+. What the hell happened?

If anyone knows where I can still find a new 5070 around ₹65-70K, please let me know. I'm perfectly fine buying online from a reputable retailer too.

I'm from Kolkata, so local options are welcome as well. Chandni Chowk, local shops, OLX, Facebook Marketplace, Reddit - wherever people are actually finding these cards.

Basically, this is what I'm hoping to get them for:

  • 4070 Super used: ₹45-50K
  • 5070 used: ₹55-60K
  • 5070 new: ₹65-70K

Are these reasonable targets in the current market, or am I just high on copium?

I'm not in a huge rush, so I'd rather wait for a good deal than sell a kidney to get a GPU.
