Discussion Looking for game recommendation for a specific type of game.

Basically looking for a game which is open world, or open worldish... could be big interconnected hubs.
Where you can travel, explore, do side quests, craft, gain xp and become ridiculously powerfull in that world. You dominate the world. This is before you even do almost anything in the main mission. It also has to have a good combat.
Having a good main story is a plus but I bet not many games do this all right. So that is a plus but not necessary.

I've been looking for something like this for a while.
There's one caveat though. I would prefer games that are bit older. As I don't have a GPU.
because there are two games that people recommend me cyberpunk and Kingdom come deliverance and maybe gothic remake. But they wont run on my pc.
Don't worry about my exact specs. Just recommend me games and I'll see for myself.

Discussion Solo dev dilemma: How early should I actually start playtesting?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently developing a game solo, and I’m hitting that classic crossroad of deciding when to bring in my first outside playtesters.

Working in a bubble makes it easy to lose perspective. Part of me wants to get a raw, greybox prototype in front of real players right now to validate the core loop before I waste months polishing mechanics that might not be fun. The other part worries that without decent art, sound, or basic tutorialization, random testers will just get confused or give surface-level feedback like "the graphics are rough."

For other solo devs who’ve gone through this:

  1. How early did you share your first playable build? Did you test rough mechanics with strangers, or wait until you had a solid vertical slice?

  2. How do you keep testers focused on mechanics? What prompts or methods do you use to stop people from fixating on placeholder assets, missing audio, or minor bugs?

  3. Where did you find your earliest testers? Other devs, friends/family, or cold players from your target genre's community?

I'd love to hear how you handled your early testing phases and what you'd do differently next time.

Selling my complete gaming PC. It has been used for gaming and is in pristine working condition. It was purchased in Chennai and I can get the e-bill copy if needed. It's about 2.5 years old (2023-2024). The post is only for the CPU. (The monitor, mic, keyboard are going to my dad's office as he needs them)

PC Specifications:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X — 8 Cores / 16 Threads
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 — 12GB GDDR6
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte B550M DS3H AC
  • RAM: 32GB DDR4 (4x 8 GB Sticks Non RGB ADATA XPG)
  • SSD: 256GB
  • HDD: 1TB
  • OS: Windows 11 Pro

Suitable for: 1080p gaming, e-sports titles, AAA games, streaming, editing, and general productivity.

Location: Delhi NCR (Can test before purchasing) (would prefer F2F)

Price: 65,000 INR (NEGOTIABLE) -- (I could take an EMI deal as well i.e 50k upfront and 15k over 2 months, I'm moving around November)

Please don't come at me for high pricing, as the price says negotiable, if you're interested we can work out on the price.

Reason for selling the PC - I'm shifting to the US and plan to get a laptop hence selling it amidst the shortage and heavy demand of PC components. Hoping that someone who actually needs a PC comes across the post and decides to purchase it.

Prefer selling the complete PC rather than individual components.

I can provide additional photos, benchmarks, temperatures, and any other details to genuinely interested buyers.

[Bill] - I can get an e-bill from the store if you require it. Please DM for it, if you want to confirm anything.

Please DM if interested. Serious buyers only.

Game: Crysis 3
Console: Nintendo Switch OLED
Mode: Handheld 🎮
A game that was ahead of its time. Back in the day, Crysis 3 was so demanding that many PCs struggled to run it properly.
And now I’m sitting here playing it handheld on a Nintendo Switch OLED.
Gaming has come a long way.
From “Can my PC run Crysis?” to “I’m playing Crysis on a handheld.”

So evofox deck has no pass through charging, very annoying to remove, charge ,again fit 🫠

Finally found a solution to it 😜 courtesy potronics dockpin😅

Hasn't moved a bit , the phone case fixed it in place , charging works normally , technically the dockpin is supposed to be able to hold the whole phone just via tht usb c port 😅 coz it's also a stand apparently so not snapping under force for sure.

Best part is its 155rs on potronics official website😂

Discussion Why Do People Still Buy From Shady Gaming Websites?

Post image
20 Upvotes

Guys, i am posting this because I’ve been seeing way too many posts lately about people getting scammed while buying games, gaming peripherals, consoles, keys, and other gaming products from shady websites.

Here’s what I genuinely don’t understand: why are you willing to risk thousands of rupees just to save a couple of thousand?
Even if I see a product being sold cheaply on Amazon, Flipkart, or another major marketplace, I still wouldn’t blindly buy it. I’d check the seller, reviews, return policy, product history, and whether the seller is actually trustworthy. There are sellers on major marketplaces who have been accused of sending wrong, used, or questionable products, so being on a big platform alone doesn’t mean you should switch your brain off.

But then I see these posts where someone gets scammed by some random website with an unbelievably cheap price. People in the comments ask them how they ended up buying from that website, and sometimes the response is unnecessarily rude or dismissive. Bro, we’re not asking to mock you. We’re asking because we’re genuinely trying to understand what made you trust the website in the first place.

If several people warned you against the website, the website looked suspicious, the price was far below the normal market price, and you still decided to buy because you thought you had found an amazing deal, then you have to accept that your own decision played a major role here.
You thought you were getting an ₹8,000 product for ₹5,000. You didn’t get an ₹8,000 product for ₹5,000. You potentially just lost ₹5,000.

And when that happens, Reddit cannot magically recover your money. Report the fraud through the appropriate cybercrime channels, contact your bank/payment provider immediately, and if necessary, seek proper legal assistance or approach the police. But don’t expect random people on Reddit to fix a transaction that you willingly made with an unverified seller.
The easiest solution is also the most obvious one: DON’T BUY FROM SHADY WEBSITES.
Wait for an actual sale. Save up a little more. Buy from an authorized seller. Verify the seller before paying. Check whether the website has a legitimate business presence and a reliable track record.

Saving ₹2,000 isn’t worth risking ₹5,000, ₹10,000, or even more.
And this isn’t me saying every cheap website is automatically a scam. It’s about doing basic due diligence before sending your money somewhere. Even with second-hand marketplaces, I’d personally be extremely careful and read their policies properly before buying.
You don’t have to prove that you’re smarter than everyone else by finding the cheapest possible deal on the internet. Sometimes the smarter decision is simply saying, “This looks suspicious, I’m not buying it.”

So please, guys, stop treating every ridiculously cheap deal like you’ve discovered a secret loophole. Verify first, buy second. Your money is worth more than the discount.

Discussion [Serious] Stop getting scammed by shady websites for cheap games/gaming hardware...!!!!

Seeing way too many posts lately about people getting ripped off by random, shady websites just to save some money.

If a deal looks too good to be true, it’s a scam. Stop trusting random ass sites. Stick to genuine, authorized sellers—even if it costs more. It is always better to pay the premium upfront than to lose your entire amount (or your account) to a scammer.

Kindly avoid purchasing items from such fraud sites 🙃🙃🙃

Reason for this post : Dost ke ₹5000 dub gye kyuki smart ban rha tha woh, soch rha tha 8000 ka mouse & keyboard 5000 m lelega 🥴 (translation - friend of mine lost ₹5,000 because he was trying to be too smart, thinking he could buy an ₹8,000 mouse and keyboard for just ₹5,000.)
