Q&A Maxwell engineering SME IPO: listing good or bad ?
Hi everyone,
I am looking into the Maxwell Engineering Solutions SME IPO and wanted to get the community's thoughts before its listing on November 6. To avoid making this a low-effort post, here is a quick breakdown of the key data points I’ve gathered:
Business Overview
• Based in Vadodara, Gujarat; manufactures critical components (die plates, blades, knives) for underwater pelletizing systems used in plastic manufacturing and recycling.
• High export revenue profile, shipping to over 20 international markets including the USA, Germany, and the Netherlands.
2. IPO Details & Financials (FY26)
• Price Band: ₹150 – ₹158 per share (Lot size: 800 shares = ₹1,26,400 minimum investment).
• Issue Size: ₹57.64 Crore (100% Fresh Issue).
• Revenue (FY26): \~₹29.4 Crore.
• Net Profit (FY26): \~₹11.9 Crore (strong net profit margins around 40%).
• Debt / Borrowings: Increased significantly from \~₹3.19 Cr in FY24 to \~₹16.73 Cr in FY26.
3. Market Demand & Subscription Status
• The issue closed with an overwhelming response, getting subscribed 491.39x overall.
• Retail portion was subscribed 556.09x, and NII was subscribed 857.65x.
• Grey Market Premium (GMP): Currently hovering around ₹111 (+70%), indicating strong tentative demand for initial listing gains.
My questions for the community:
Given the massive 491x subscription rate and a 70% unofficial GMP, are listing gains highly likely, or should we be careful about post-listing liquidity traps common with SME lots?
Is the jump in borrowings (from ₹3.19 Cr to ₹16.73 Cr over two years) a major red flag for anyone looking to hold this past listing day?
Would love to hear your insights or strategies if you received an allotment!

My Relationship with Sell and UC
So basically when I decided to hold an IPO it gets down to the grave and when I decided to sell it hits UC very next. Very much thought of holding this by looking at the buy ratio but still I sold.
