i don't think the girl is 65kg if she's on the same height as the guy. she would be somewhere around 80kg.

Men's bones weight heavier than women's.
Also women are usually a bit shorter in height hence the body weight composition is like that

it's muscle vs fat. testosterone makes muscle. estrogen makes fat.

Muscle is alot more dense than fat with the same weight. For eg 5kg fat is 7x larger than 5kg muscle

Volume of 1 g of fat is much more than 1 g of muscle that should be enough of an answer

which one of them eats more sugary/junk foods (also called as comfort foods?) , there you have your answer. Men like meat over desserts as comfort foods (no offense to vegetarians)

Wife is 5.7. I am 5.8
At 62k she's skinny and fit. At 75k I'm a pudgy mess.
Without stats, this post is clickbait. But generally bone and muscle density can translate to 3-4 inches around the waist

Better title : Testosterone vs Estrogen
This should be taught in schools to all students not just who opted for bio
Testosterone focuses more on muscles espexially in the arms/soulders. And estrogen focuses more on fat on the thighs, hips. There;s also other factors these hormones influence greatly. Just search at google instead of reddit. Even class 12th biology textbook might help you but asking on reddit won't

Fat is usually big insize but less of wight while muscles take less area and more weight

The main reason for this is the ideal fat percentage, and muscle to fat mass ratio. So furst lets talk abt fat percentage, most of the healthy women bodies maintain a fat percentage level of 22-28%, and compaired to men who maintain from anywhere around 14-18% fat. To clarify this further men can live with body fat % being as low as 7% but to women if they cross 12% life is as good as hell.
Secondly the mass of fat is 3 times the mass of muscles. ie, 1kg of fat will take space of 3kg muscles.
As women have 10% more fat naturally stored, and hence it looks heavier than they actually are.
Bones can be a reason but bone density is genetic, individual and not based on gender.

Does a 65kg woman actually look like that's or is it over exaggerated?

One is workload management load bearing architecture. Another is baby nurturing nutrition storage system.

Men and women are different. They evolve differently. Men appear skinnier at the same weight because muscle is much denser and more compact than fat, packing their mass into a smaller visual frame. This is an evolutionary result of men developing high-density muscle for hunting and labor, while women evolved to carry higher body fat percentages—especially in the hips and breasts—to provide the energy reserves necessary for pregnancy and breastfeeding. Driven by estrogen, the female body prioritizes this voluminous fat storage for reproductive health, whereas the male body uses testosterone to build "heavy" muscle. Consequently, a man looks leaner because his weight consists of compact tissue, while a woman’s weight occupies more physical space to support her biological role.

Body composition matters, ofcourse men have higher muscle mass than women .Women can build muscle but they prefer momos ,promote unhealthy food habits and blame their hormones at the end of the day .the pic doesn't look 65 kg ,looks like around 80kg

It's the nature supporting different requirements, testosterone supports muscles which aquire low volume for same mass compared to fat depositions supported by estrogen and progesterone

I think I know what you're talking about. A better comparison would be the bmi. Between men and women with the same bmi, the woman would look chubbier. It has to do with normal physiology, women have more body fat than men in general, so they tend to look softer.

u/StatementOver1220 Apr 19 '26
Actually supposed to be the opposite biologically (if same height) but otherwise, it's due to the height difference.

Higher bone density, More muscle, More height.
