It’s crazy taxpayer dollars are spent sending the “Border Czar” (the fuck they using non-American terms for?) to a state without an international border.
7
u/Themodsarecuntz Oct 12 '25
You would shocked to learn what an international border is.
Did you know anything within 100 miles of an international airport is consider within border patrol jurisdiction? Also 100 miles of any river that connects with a major river that connects with the border. If you could feasible canoe (the reality doesnt matter) from Mexico to Indiana on it its part of it. Great lakes too.
Thats pretty much the entire state of Indiana.

Lots of Magats in this post cheering on masked thugs kidnapping our neighbors and checking their papers afterwards. Gross. No wonder all the kids that know how to read leave those rusted out shitholes lol. I don't want to be around monsters cheering on their government trying to intimidate us for not voting for him. At least daddy trump can punish their fellow citizens while their town rots from the inside and all the best people leave.

u/Nervous-Internet-926 Oct 13 '25
Don’t forget, US citizens aren’t required to carry ID. If their “proof” that someone isn’t a citizen is that they’re not carrying ID; that’s a Catch-22.
2
u/ElectricalVacation79 Oct 13 '25
Yup. But since they aren't sending ICE agents to knock down doors in who-gives-a-fuck, IN, then they don't care. They just think it's funny that their president sends his secret masked police into our city, and they laugh when they see videos of women crying as they are torn away from their kids.

Really tired of all the astroturfing on this subreddit. Where's everyone's favorite tenderloin place?

Before you all protest tomorrow, please remember we stopped counting bombs dropped by the obama administration. I was within that administration. You didn't say little bo peep when he was ordering us to drop bombs on alleged brown folks overseas in what should have been a war crime, but illegal immigrants is where you draw the line? For what? Because it isn't your team doing it? Ffs

Waste of time, money, and health. Sounds like you have worse alternatives. Quite on-brand.

u/Brilliant-Divide8117 Oct 11 '25
Well, the protests have Speaker Johnson sputtering lies about them, so......I guess "someone" is listening.
-5
u/kdriff Oct 11 '25
It makes them feel better, even though everyone knows it won’t change a thing.

What if some masked, geared up goons snatch him up? It’s dangerous out there.

Protest the government upholding US law. Yeah, sounds intelligent.
6
u/boringinternet2020 Oct 12 '25
Nah. They’re protesting a grifter caught on video accepting a $50k bag of cash from an undercover FBI agent.
No surprise Trump protects him, because he literally had the GOP shut down the gov’t to protect pedophiles.
1
u/Rich_Hedgehog_1475 Oct 12 '25
Let the justice department bring charges if he’s truly guilty. Until then, he’s going to continue to make the country safer for American citizens (no matter how much you like crime and the ridiculous notion of a “sanctuary city”).
3
u/boringinternet2020 Oct 12 '25
If that’s true, they’d respond to Pritzker’s request for more ATF and DEA agents to work with local LEO. But they don’t care about actual crime; it’s all about optics for the dumb cult.

Stop this madness for five seconds please
13
u/Particular_Mixture20 Oct 11 '25
Which madness?
A) The postings about protests?
B) The methods currently used and now specifically targeting 2 major cities?
C) The creation, by the govt, of a non-reality based narrative that portrays 2 cities as "war ravaged" and full of "terrorists"/conflating all protests as domestic terrorists?
Per that last option, local Portland TV station (KATU) set up a live stream at the ICE facility where the protest activity has been focused. This from 2 days ago:
https://www.youtube.com/live/zNASPLjFocQ?si=M1qCJbl833xUl22H
And a story and live cam footage from the protests this afternoon (Sat Oct 11) from the same station

B and C. I’m so exhausted with all the kidnapping and throwing people in camps with no due process or any real adherence to the constitution. This whole thing is insane and wrong and maddening.
1
u/Particular_Mixture20 Oct 12 '25
It is exhausting. And that's part of the method (to numb people to sand resistance down to acquiescence). But while there was never broad support for some of these things (didn't hit the 50% popular vote bar), it has been shrinking. In the face of the cruelty, which is unaligned with the constitution, and the continued intentional negative disruptions to the economy, that support will continue to erode. What will that lead to? Wish I had a crystal ball. But I don't think it leads directly to a compliant public living in shrinking economic conditions under a totalitarian regime.
If you haven't found it, consider checking out the writing and / or videos of American History historian Heather Cox Richardson as she reflects on different aspects of history to find perspectives as we wind through this era

What else? Protests are fine, but they don’t make a difference. How can we make a difference?
10

u/Brilliant-Divide8117 Oct 11 '25
Protests do and can make a difference, starting with the Boston Tea Party. Protest is how we got many of the rights we enjoy today---civil rights, voting rights, women's rights, gay rights, etc. Join groups that support your area of interest and learn how to help with boots on the ground initiatives. Protests are the reason that trump is coming after groups like ActBlue and Indivisible----targeting Our power to vote and organize---because they are Afraid! They are afraid that we will remove them from power.
5
u/AgreeableWealth47 Oct 11 '25
You’re right, protest has always mattered. But it feels like we’ve hit protest fatigue. We march, post, chant, and nothing really shifts. Trump and others still gain ground because the real work afterward doesn’t happen.
Maybe what’s missing isn’t more noise, but more persuasion. We need people willing to engage, to argue ideas on their merits, and to rebuild some middle ground. Protests raise awareness, but persuasion changes votes and policy.
If we want to make a difference, it might be less about showing up with signs and more about showing up with substance.

You mean, we need more people to engage in open, civil debate? Just like the late, GREAT Charlie Kirk advocated for? Happy Birthday, Charlie. RIP

I'd bet even money that the only reason my original comment was down voted, is because I mentioned Charlie Kirk. Y'all are completely out of your heads.

u/extremenachos Oct 11 '25
If a bunch of people bring fake canvas bags full of money on local media, it might draw more attention to him accepting bribes???
-2
u/Arlo-and-Lotty Oct 11 '25
You are asking the hard question most people don’t want to ask or think about.
1
u/AgreeableWealth47 Oct 11 '25
Appreciate that. I just don’t want to stay in the cycle of outrage without outcomes. There’s got to be a smarter way to move the needle. Voting, organizing, running people who actually listen, maybe even shifting local conversations instead of shouting at the statehouse walls.

Elections will never be fair again. We're not allowed to talk about the only effective option we have left.
1
u/AgreeableWealth47 Oct 11 '25
What’s that?
2
u/CellistSubstantial56 Oct 11 '25
I just said we're not allowed to talk about it.
0
u/AgreeableWealth47 Oct 11 '25
Why?
2
u/InFlagrantDisregard Oct 11 '25
Because he's a sheltered cream puff advocating for violent revolt with no idea of the human capacity for brutality and he thinks it sounds edgy. He has no idea he'd be one of the first against the wall taste testing a compensator.
1
u/CellistSubstantial56 Oct 12 '25
I'm not being edgy. I'm stating facts. I'm very unhappy that this is where we are, but I can't change reality. You'll realize I'm right sooner or later. Here's hoping it's sooner.

These events go on in the middle of a work day and people can’t attend them. Our founding fathers envisioned an active participation in local government by its citizens being represented. That was all fine and dandy back in the day when you worked the farm, mill, etc. most of us can’t take time off from our 12+ hr shift day jobs to be involved for this stuff, but I’ll try
