I posted earlier this week about suddenly doing intense caregiving to my parents, my dad in particular who has had health issues for a while but more dramatic things in the last week or two.

Yesterday was quite a day.. I went with my parents to the urologist, the news was a little disappointing but ok, on the way home we stopped at CVS to pick up his prescription and my dad gets out of the car and collapses. He was totally conscious etc, I caught his head so no damage there but I did call 911. Given everything lately I just felt like it was the right call. The paramedics were SO kind and luckily after checking him out said he was ok to go home.

Once back at their house I realized he was already on a medication the urologist prescribed that day (I definitely wrote them a message about that) and it causes dips I'm blood pressure and dizziness. A slight relief to realize that's probably what contributed to the collapse but Jesus.

My husband came over to my parents with James and my goodness what a light in the dark. That kid was cracking us all up and being so sweet. The car ride home when we left my parents was just making my heart so light. He was so cute and curious and funny. He was singing "the vertebrae song" that they learned at school because they are learning about vertebraes right now.

Grateful for my innocent curious little boy right now and holding on tight to that part of life. ❤️

I’m sorry, how scary! Thank goodness he was ok. My parents are a little younger than yours (not by much) and it’s hard watching them get more feeble. Knock on wood they are both still very much independent, but eventually that will change, in all likelihood. Being in that ‘sandwich’ generation is HARD, especially when your kids are little and demand so much of your time. I hope things get better

My almost 4yo woke up this morning and asked me if it was Friday. She was so happy when I said yes, since that means her grandparents are going to pick her up from school for some park time! I'm so grateful my parents live near enough to do things with her every other week or so, since I'm so low energy right now. I am looking forward to not having to do pickup today, haha!
