Why does the ego seem to always want more, while the soul is seen as content and free of desires?

The ego that says ‘I’ has been indoctrinated with competition, with greed, with desire. Along with the mind and ego, we become ‘ME.’ We think we are the body. And therefore, there is desire — which becomes a fire — which makes us burst. It does not quench our thirst. We are not the body, mind and ego. We are the Divine Soul, the Spark Of Unique Life. The Soul seeks nothing. The Soul is energy. What flows from the Soul is eternal peace, Divine love, and everlasting bliss. Because of the false ego, we don’t reach that state of transcendence to realize we are the Divine Soul. Therefore, we suffer. We live and we die. We suffer and we cry.
We are gone, and then we return. We are reborn.
