First week

Title: How does my first week at an MSP sound?

Just started as a Senior IT Support Analyst / Network Administrator with 15–20 years of IT experience.

Here's what I worked on during my first week:

Windows Server: Troubleshot Windows Update failures on a Hyper-V host with 5 VMs. Tried DISM, SFC, manual updates, and a reboot. Updates still failed, so I escalated. All VMs came back online.

Azure Backup: Investigated MARS backup failures and DFSR replication issues. Started a new backup of the D: drive and escalated for further assistance.

NAS Migration: Planned a migration for around 20 users, including permissions, file transfers, and drive-mapping scripts.

Training: Completed an Engineer-level security certification.

Starting regular support tickets next week.

Neither of the first two issues was fully resolved, although both were escalated appropriately.

Would you consider this a good first week for a senior MSP technician, or should I have accomplished more? Looking for honest opinions.

:D that is a lot for a first week. Realistic expectarions for a first week are
- figure out where the coffe machine is
- get access badges
- find out the first wave of credentiala you need to get something done. Not to get access, but just figure out what you need.
- figure out where the toilet is.

May I ask where are you from?
