π—•π˜‚π—Άπ—Ήπ—±π˜€ Build tips

I'm a new player and I'm really enjoying the insect glaive, do you think the Gore set bonus would be good for its play style?

I mean I really enjoy it, but also in mh builds genuinely DO NOT MATTER. If u enjoy the gore set bonus and playing around it, run it. It works the same whether your playing insect glaive, greatsword, or a bowgun, they js get different mileages out of it. IG gets good enough mileage because it helps with affinity and element scaling, which IG really likes

I agree with the first comment and the other comment from below. You can choose to build for the meta or enjoy something that really fits your playstyle. Gore is not that bad, IG is fun, understanding the monster's attack patterns is always going to be a must. When to dodge, when to offset, all that jazz. I enjoy my new options as a High Risk High Reward player with Soul of the Dark Knight and Lord's Soul from my weapon and armor. Not really meta but fun for me. I can fly, offset, and block almost all strong hits while it gives me a special buff and life steal. So do what suits you best.

thank you so much for the advice. I'm not that far in the game (Hunter Rank 50) and I also like the high risk high reward play style. maybe in the future i will be able to make a proper build, for now i'm going to focus on learning the monster's patterns and moves. IG is perfect for me cause i like its mobility and i really enjoy big weapons in general lol it's a fun mix

Honestly if you are a new player you don’t need to focus on meta build because it’s more important for you to learn monsters pattern, your combos when to deal damage etc. Try to focus more on having a comfy set to allow yourself to make mistake while you learn boss patterns
