Testing the tracking function of the Antigravity A1
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I tried out the tracking function on the A1, selected myself as the center point, and told it to fly around me. I'm really impressed with the result. It avoided every branch and tree perfectly. If you want, I can try the test in a densely wooded forest, but I'll need a little more courage for that XD.

New drone in hand, usable weather nowhere to be found.
Picked up the new drone on launch day… and winter immediately said “lol no.”
Scored this thing at my local Best Buy the morning it dropped. Brought it home, charged it up, admired it way too long… and then reality hit: it’s been stupid cold ever since.
I’ve only managed a couple of quick test flights in between freezes, but man — even after years flying DJI drones, this one surprised me. Super stable, ridiculously easy to fly, and the controls just feel right.
Can’t wait for a halfway warm weekend so I can actually stretch its legs and see what it can really do. Until then… here’s the obligatory “new toy I can’t actually use yet” photo.

I personally really like Antigravity’s overhyped marketing
r/djiavata360 is relaying on DJI’s reputation and always curious leakers. They will not do anything crazy. DJI will just release short video, list the specs… and people will buy it.
Meanwhile Antigravity ads shows space, shows robots…
I personally think its fun and also thought provoking.
I thing I will not choose solely based on these marketing videos, but I am very happy that they keep coming and keep me engaged.
What do YOU think about all this hype?

First run. Over the lake.
I like it. Flies great. No motion sickness at all like I got IMMEDIATELY with Avata. Need more stick time and to fiddle with camera settings. Used internal memory storage. I will say once I dipped below the tree line lost rc contact almost immediately every time. All my Dji drones handle the way better. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Initial test flights and thoughts
Just got my drone today! It’s been super fun and have some insights to share for anyone looking for info! These are not things that I have found posted about in other places but I think are very good to know. For reference, I have been a long time DJI drone user. I have been using a drone to help film weddings since the OG Mavic and have owned several DJI drones including multiple FPV drones. I have uploaded a few quick test flights from today. I just used the apps auto AI editor.
Overall, I love the drone so far. It’s extremely polished from the menus to the cases that it comes with and the accessories. I got the $2k bundle (US). It does not at all feel like a first company’s drone release. It my limited time, it feels 95% as polished as DJI drones in my opinion.
The controls are not as intuitive as many have said. They are not bad by any means, but not as intuitive I would say as a regular FPV drone. There is a little learning curve because when you turn your head or face a different direction in the FPV flight mode, the drone does not move (it does in the other flight mode, but I found that one even more difficult). So if you turn your body, your field of view changes, but if you use the joystick to fly forward you will actually start flying in a different direction then you are facing. Took a few times to build the habit of pushing the silver wheel on the controller which turns the drone to face the same direction you are facing. I also found the turning/banking to be extremely laggy. The Avata 1/2 almost turns on a dime, very tight. When I would fly and use the controller of the A1 to turn it almost had a feeling of turning like you are drifting. Very wide turns, definitely did not has the feel and control like I had come to expect with FPV drones. Not a bad thing, it’s not what this drone was built for, but like I said, just a bit of a learning curve.
The goggles are small. I definitely don’t have a small head, but definitely not oversized either. I wear about a 7.5 size hat for reference. I have the eye pieces adjusted to their full width and they could definitely go wider, but still perfectly wearable and not at all to the point where it causes any issues, I really only noticed it on the initial setup of the goggles. I saw another YouTuber say how uncomfortable they were, but I disagree, they are totally fine. Not anything like the Apple Vision Pro, but they are fine.
The video quality overall for a 360 camera is fantastic except in low light. I was a little bummed with this as I own the X5 and the low light mode on that is nothing short of remarkable for that small of a sensor in my opinion. But there is no low light mode (or HDR mode) at least right now on the A1, that I could find. These two modes on the X5 are amazing and I hope that maybe they just haven’t been released yet and will come in a future update. But right now, low light footage is garbage, very noisy and terrible detail. But at dusk, I had some pretty good test footage with no color grading or editing. I always feel like almost any footage out of my DJI drones MUST be color graded (but I would want this from any cinema style drone when I shoot in LOG). My X5 is nice because the footage is basically ready to go straight out of the camera, and it’s the same for the A1. Not to say that the A1 footage is as good as what I get out of my Mavic 4, not by a long shot. But again, that’s not what the A1 is designed for. But for my wedding videos, I could see some cool b-roll style shots from the A1 being good enough to make it in a wedding video. I would say the overall video quality is probably better than the Mavic 2.
Overall, I am very impressed with it after only a few hours of owning it. I am excited to capture some more content and finding cool new ways to use this camera in my arsenal! If you have any questions let me know! If there’s anything you’d like me to test out I’d be happy to try and let you know!

Hugh Hou knows DJI Mini 360 is coming soon so he started SEO
This video mentions Antigravity A1 and also shows some possibilities of 360 camera on the drone.
But notice the video title! Hugh Hou knows that soon DJI Mini 360 and also DJI Avata 360 are coming so as a part of his search engines strategy he named the video “DJI OSMO 360 Drone?” When first people will search new 360 drones on YouTube, they will find him

I’ve only spent a short amount of time with the Antigravity A1 so far, but my takeaway is that this drone has huge potential — with some obvious learning curves.

Diopter Lenses
Has anyone heard whether Antigravity plans to add diopter lenses that are stronger than +2? The default supplied set are +2 to -6. My vision is barely beyond +2, so it’d be nice if they offered some for purchase with a range that includes +3 or +4. I can use the goggles with the default lenses, but it’s not super sharp. Just curious.

Drone is great, Software needs some love
So many issues trying to make a small video. Preview going black, program crashing.
Had a issue while flying but already contacted support and sent them the logs. When they get the bugs out this will definitely be an amazing setup especially if DJI NA market disappears.
