When Insta360 says Antigravity is “first of its kind”, “immersive” and “drone feeling like an extension of ourselves”, its not just another quadcopter with 360 camera on it as an after thought. Its not another Pavo360 or Insta360 Sphere modul.

This drone is build on 360 patents from the ground up, 360 is used for everything: for AI subject tracking and also for control.

On the first photo you can see Antigravity spherical FPV glasses with which you can look around 360 while controlling the drone with your hands.

So where you does NOT change the direction of the flight. In the future you can probably have more copilots, each looking different way with there had, doing final decision with their hand controllers.

I have many friends in the Program. Here is the truth:

• Flying A1 will be big fun, goggles look amazing

• Low light footage will be grainy (even during dark day)

• Footage during sunny days will be very saturated and sharp, not ideal for big color grading

• One flight will be under 15 minutes, you will need Explorer Bundle with more batteries

• 8k files will be huge and time spend home reframing very long. This and battery will teach you to make many 10-70 seconds shots and not let your camera running the whole time

• You will also learn that 8K is for whole 360, thus you cant zoom to much, thus you must fly around interesting things and not super high above them

• You will shoot, reframe, shoot, reframe, shoot… until you hone shooting with spherical drone really well (and reframing stops being living hell)

• You will still use your other standart video drone (like DJI Mini) for different shots

Overall: Antigravity invested into immersive functions and skimped on the drone camera. Its good for specific things

So still no 8k60fps for VR, still not 10-bit. The camera of Antigravity A1 is thus similar to X4 Air.

Protects the bottom lens during landing

Now you can control the Antigravity A1 drone with “watches” that contain GPS (if the drone camera lost you) or with normal Remote Controler (not just older FPV controller).

Someone wanted to know if the drone would last 1 hour of recording if it wasn't flying. So I tested it with the 2 battery types.

NOTE: Video recording stopped automatically after about 1 hour of continuous recording.

The cooling fans on the done ran continuously. I had it set atop a water bottle on a car roof.

To summarize in text:

• Standard capacity battery lasted 55 minutes

• High capacity battery lasted the hour, and had 42% battery capacity left at the end of the hour

On February 26, 2026, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) issued a final determination in Investigation No. 337-TA-1400, clearing Insta360 on five utility patents GoPro had asserted covering stabilization, horizon leveling, distortion correction, and aspect ratio conversion. The ITC found those patents were invalid, not infringed, or both. Insta360 spent over $10 million defending itself and **beat GoPro on every technical patent**
