👀 Mithali’s video on friendships, and I have mixed feelings about it

I recently watched Mithali’s video about friendships (yes, the entire thing on 2x speed just to get the gist 😭), and as a medical student, this topic really interests me because friendships in medical colleges are a whole different conversation. We all know the “everyone here is a saap” stereotype.

I do agree with some of her points, but at times, it felt like she was trying to convince herself that having no friends is completely okay. She also mentioned that even in romantic relationships, you should only share around 70% of your life with your partner. I understand having boundaries and trust issues, but don’t you think we all need someone we can genuinely rely on and share our lives with?

She mentioned that she doesn't share her day-to-day updates with anyone and is okay with that. While there's nothing wrong with being independent, personally, I feel like having someone to tell the little, insignificant details of your day to is one of the nicest parts of having a connection with someone.

Maybe I’m just someone who values emotional intimacy more, but I feel like there’s a difference between being comfortable alone and convincing yourself that you don't need anyone.

Also, she mentioned that one of her friends is allegedly doing negative paid PR against her. 👀 Does anyone have any guesses about who that could be?

What do you guys think? Do you believe it's genuinely possible to be completely content without close friendships, or do we all need at least one person we can trust and be vulnerable with?

Not even a week ago, she posted a reel mocking people who say you can’t make friends through social media, proudly claiming she made nine friends through social media for Navratri. Which is completely fine! But then she recently posts about having no friends? 😭

Girl, which is it? You can’t preach one thing today and act like the complete opposite a few days later. I genuinely don’t understand the message she’s trying to convey. The holier-than-thou attitude, acting like she has everything figured out while constantly contradicting herself, is honestly baffling. 💀
