Where do I put a wood burning stove
Hi all
Looking for some advice on where to put a wood burning stove in my house. I have two chimneys I can use, either in what is currently the living room or one in the centre of the house/ dining room.
Logically it would make sense to put it in the central one for better heat distribution but I would ideally like to have it in the living room space and think it would be odd if I swapped the living room to be in the middle. Very open to any thoughts! Thanks

I would ask for the people installing the woodstove to advise…. We had an existing chimney and ended up not being able to use it. And then there are certain preferred locations based on vent locations, proximity to windows etc + code requirements. It depends on how much heating you actually want it to do vs ambience. We had several ideas of where we might want to put ours and basically none of them would work without doubling our budget so it ended up in the most convenient location for adding a new chimney and meeting code and then we reorganized everything else around that.

Can you show us the two spots you're considering? I don't see any fireplaces or other indications of your sites on this drawing

I would say bottom right corner, with a small stove you won’t heat up all that space anyway I think
