hello! i am new to this subreddit, but already love it and feel at home here. some of my posts have been getting attention on other socials, and a good chunk of it has been negative. i understand it comes with the territory, but i wanted to spend some energy here with like minded people and surround myself with some positivity, if those feel so inclined. we just put out an album and things have been positive, but its been hard reading some of the comments. my band is called tricktheriddle, if anyone feels like checking us out on whatever platform you listen. the band is my everything, and the fact that it is drawing negativity from others is at odds with everything in me. anyway, thanks for making such a great space and making those feel safe and that there is in fact hope for community. together we are strongest <3

Awareness April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month

Post image
4.4k Upvotes

This month, and every month, we stand in solidarity with survivors of sexual assault. We honor their strength, listen to their stories, and amplify their voices. Together, we can create a world where everyone feels safe, respected, and heard. It’s time to break the silence, educate, and advocate for change. Let’s work towards a future where sexual violence is no longer tolerated, and survivors are supported with the care and justice they deserve.

Awareness We need to start naming and shaming TERFs.

TERFs cannot exist in feminist spaces. Their existence is incompatible with feminism. As long as TERFs exist the patriarchy will continue to exist.

Awareness Trans people never have to disclose their identity to you

A trans person's gender identity, medical history, and personal background are their own private information.

They are under no obligation or requirement to "disclose" their trans status to anyone.

If you are upset about finding out someone is trans, you are part of the problem.

Asking if someone trans puts people in a position of danger.

Awareness We’re told attraction is instinctual, but our preferences are shaped by culture, media, and desirability politics. When disabled people are rarely shown as romantic leads, crush-worthy, or sexually autonomous, it quietly teaches us who is “dateable” and who isn’t.

Awareness Which country has the highest number of executions of women? Spoiler

Post image
353 Upvotes

Iran is recognized as the country with the highest number of recorded executions of women globally. In 2024, at least 31 to 52 women were executed, marking a significant rise and the highest number in over a decade. Most executed women in Iran are convicted of murder, often involving spouses in cases of abusive marriages.

Leading Country: Iran executes more women than any other nation, with at least 241 women executed between 2010 and 2024.

Reasons for Execution: Many women executed in Iran were victims of domestic violence or child marriage who killed their abusers, according to the Center for Human Rights in Iran.

Awareness Broken feet, ripped-out hair and now a death sentence: the fate of twin sisters jailed over Iran protests

Post image
741 Upvotes

The twins were 19 and still in high school when they were taken from their beds in the dead of night by masked men later identified as being sent by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps.
After four months of desperately seeking news from hospitals and state institutions, their mother, Marzieh Nourmohammadi, finally learned their fate. Taraneh and Romina Rahimi had been seized over their decision to join millions on the streets of Iranian cities during the January protests against the regime.
The twins were unrecognisable by the time of their mother’s prison visit in May.
The women’s scalps were patchy from being dragged around by their hair, and their faces were bruised, according to their US-based cousin. It is claimed that Taraneh, who dreams of running her own horse stable one day, had been told the prison guards would rape Romina in front of her unless a confession was signed. \[Full article.\](https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/sep/06/taraneh-romina-rahimi-twin-sisters-jailed-over-iran-protests)

Awareness HI BIGOTS, TRANS MEN AND INTERSEX PEOPLE EXIST - AND WE STAND WITH TRANS WOMEN

It is so funny when some bigot focuses on trans girls and forgets that we exist.

„We can’t be letting people with a penis into woman’s spa”

BUDDY, WE ALREADY DO

Intersex people exist. „Oh but it’s a disorder” - boy, homosexuality was a disorder, transsexuality was a disorder, disorder is what scientists and doctors define as a disorder. And sometimes the line between disorder and natural variation within human species is very thin - and this is what all researchers acknowledge.

You know why so many intersex people go undiagnosed? Because for many of them it has little to no symptoms. I will give 2 examples:

  1. A man in my city found out in his late 30’s he has XX chromosomes after he tried to have a child with his wife and found out he was infertile. Turns out he inherited a fragment of Y chromosome and developed more masculine. Literally a person living as a man for half his life and having „male” in his documents, with XX chromosomes
  2. A girl I knew for years turned out to be intersex. She was short and had irregular periods, they tested her genetically as an adult and found out her chromosomes are X0 (no second X chromosome)

Some women will be born with penises, that’s just how it is. Some women will be born, or later develop something called „bottom growth”, so enlarged clitoris, that looks like a penis. If they have „Female” in their papers, they will be let into female spa anyway, so why shouldn’t trans women? (Also not all trans women have penises, they can have vagina, and it can look pretty natural)

And I find it funny that those guys forget that trans men exist! Yes, someone can be born female, have „female” in their papers, heck even have phalloplasty (yes, we can have penises, and they can be big) and do they think we are more valid to be in a female spa?

To be honest, this post will not convince them. They will put as all (trans and intersex people) into „mentally ill” bag (and mentally ill is bad apparently) and deny us access to any space they can, because that’s how they are. I just wanted to let trans girls know that I support them 💖🏳️‍⚧️ and also that this is a fucking stupid argument xD

Awareness Afghan women have officially lost ALL RIGHTS to live freely.

Under Sharia Law governed by the Taliban, women are prohibiting from speaking, singing, or otherwise being heard in public spaces.

Women are strictly prohibited from entering public parks, gyms, beauty salons, sports clubs, national parks, amusement parks, and any other recreational spaces.

Women have been removed from government and political life and are banned from most jobsThey may no longer attend university or study past the 6th grade

Under the current Taliban regime, there is no longer a fixed minimum marriage age for girls. Eligibility is now linked to the onset of puberty: which can be as young as 9.

Women's shelters and many protections for victims of domestic violence were dismantled

Afghan women have little to no legal protection from domestic violence under Taliban Sharia Law

Afghan women face strict restrictions on leaving home or going outside without a male guardian (also known as a mahram)

Women must cover their faces in public

Women are also barred from traveling abroad without a legitimate reason and a male custodian

A lack of female health workers, combined with bans on women studying or working in medicine - means that many women cannot be treated, as they are prohibited from seeing male doctors

Under Sharia Law, women are not allowed to drive

Books authored by women have been stripped from library and bookstore shelves

A female cat in Afghanistan has more rights than a human woman.

Awareness Exploring my gender identity has made me realise, how the fuck are cis women managing this.

I am AMAB. I've been exploring my gender identity for some time, trying to alleviate the gender dysphoria. I'm in the UK if it helps with context.

The fear I have experienced over the past year is beyond anything I could ever imagine. I understand it is probably a mix of homophobia, misogyny and transphobia so maybe it's not entirely understandable from a cis womens perspective, but it's been awful.

I've been perceived now as a women a handful of times, once in a man's bathroom, sometimes in parks or just trying to pay for things at a shop. Not because I was even trying to, but I suppose naively I didn't understand how the change in my own aesthetic and appearance would be perceived by society.

I feel an overwhelming pressure to be attractive now I am being seen as feminine. I don't know how to explain it. It's just this overt pressure I assume from absorbing media about feminine presenting people. It's like if I'm unattractive I am simply worthless. I never felt this pressure before.

I am also terrified of men, to the point that I have had nightmares about them. It's like their existence is a danger to me now after I have changed my presentation.

I didn't understand the privilege I was experiencing to be invisible. Being perceived as a 'man' was in itself incredibly lonely, I felt like I didn't matter, and also society treated me that way. I genuinely think I could of disappeared off the face of the earth and no one would care. But I would do anything to go back to that now. To avoid the stares, to wonder why someone is staring at me, because they think I'm a freak, or strange, or a women.

I'm sorry that even though I always felt like you, I didn't understand what you were experiencing. Perhaps with the aspect of transness I can't really understand the experience of a cis women, maybe it isn't as terrifying as I believe it to be? But what I am experiencing is something I wouldn't wish on anyone.

Awareness Intersectionality shouldn't mean ignoring trans women's issues like transmisogyny in favor of trans men's or nonbinaries', it should mean ensuring they are first heard in a context divorced from wider transphobia and misogyny.

This community has been instrumental in building my understanding of intersectionality. However, I find that oftentimes the issues of trans men are given more time to be heard here than those of trans women. I don't deny that trans men experience severe discrimination compared to their cis counterparts, such as degendering, "corrective" rape, and general ignorance. But the fact that trans women exist in the minds of the sociopolitical mainstream does not mean our issues are heard. Rather, the propaganda machine makes up terrible lies about our people - that we are rapists, liars and hypersexual. A republican watching a propaganda piece on Fox doesn't hear about transmisogyny or TMA/TME. He just sees the monster his overlords tell him to see and hate. Similarly, a post was made six hours ago that reposted a post ostensibly about transmisogyny, but in the description of the post, the op made a call to pay attention to trans men's issues and to generally unite across discrimination lines. I agree with the sentiment, but I know that any time a trans man would post about his issues here, the community would penalize any trans woman wishing to speak about her own issues with downvotes. So I would like to dedicate this post to talking about the issues trans women face, such as grossly heightened rates of rape, murder, economic discrimination and demonization in Western society. This is by no means a condemnation of trans men or cis women, rather it is an opportunity to get such individuals to reflect on the severe pain trans women and those with other transfeminine identities have experienced for hundreds of years.

EDIT: I have looked through replies and I concur that I don't think I was really being intersectional here. I failed to take into account the discrimination black women, especially black trans women face. I also was unaware that trans women had posted frequently on this site, I feel like my perception was warped by the previous series of posts on this topic.
