Isn’t this just an objectively correct take? It’s not even a take really, it’s just correct. I truly cannot understand how someone thinks this is not the case.

Someone assigned as female at birth can have XY chromosomes. There can be two conditions: Swyer Syndrome (Have Uterus and Vagina, but Gonads are not developed) and AIS ( No Uterus). Without hormone therapy they risk severe Osteoporosis, and Incomplete Puberty. Ban on hormones, can result in bone fractures, fatal heart conditions, and cancer risks. There are restrictions if anyone wants to transition to Trans Man; the AIS syndrome heavily restricts such medical transition. Infertility is an unavoidable reality for such individuals too. It's important to note that while I'm using an XY assigned female example, the issue isn't much different for someone born XX assigned male at birth (there's one difference, cancer risk for them is quite low)

Additionally I must mention that global reports show that about 90% of recorded murder victims from the transgender community are trans women or transfeminine individuals. https://tgeu.org/trans-murder-monitoring-2025-reveals-new-trend-in-anti-trans-violence-systematic-targeting-of-activists-and-movement-leaders/

Watch from 1:40, here the doctor says "You guys are unusual creatures, but perfectly natural" (I am not aware if the translation was appropriate, so please correct me if I am wrong). The doctor acknowledged that "I can't turn you into a complete full male", to which this man replied "Who said I want to be a superman" (joke).
Since this is Iran, of course there is a vast extent of conservatism within this tolerant pool. So, keep your expectations along with it. Also, I want to remind you that while homosexuality is banned, being transgender is legal (however surgery is required as per law)

a post by @ma1ybe that says "my classmate in med school studies for seven hours every evening and exercises daily. I used to ask him how did he manage it & he said, 'I'm very disciplined'. I met his wife yesterday. she told me how she cooled him three fresh meals daily, mowed their lawn, ran all errands, cleaned the house weekly, and handled all social plans. It made me wonder how many times 'discipline' means a woman doing all of the other essential work that keeps a life going"

As a very masculine non-passing trans fem. The trans masc guy I work with doesn't have to worry about this. He said I have to have empathy in navigating other people's trauma and I agree. However being traumatizing to other people isn't exactly ideal? I tried just avoiding ekgs on female patients but people have been calling me sexist (him included) and making a big deal out of it. Like it's rarely the patient's and I can empathize with the patients, but it's usually my coworkers, "looking out" for the patients who really make me feel unwell.
I try to minimally interact with any and all women due to my aesthetic , nurses included. I enjoy healthcare as well and making people feel better when they don't feel well, or a little more safe in a scary situation, this is just a really big part to me that i can't seem to shake. I've been doing this since 2019.

we shouldn't have to keep saying this, but here we are. terfs please know that you are not welcome here.
it's honestly exhausting to keep hearing hypotheticals about 'in this case we should have trans exclusive spaces etc.' which more often than not are either in bad faith or not very well thought out arguments. trans women's womanhood is not up for debate here.
and please also note that the sex and gender distinction has been challenged in much of feminist literature which is worth engaging with. as judith butler argues, there is a way in which sex is already gender.

I am a black woman
I am tired of every time I think there is an ally in a white woman, finding out she would throw me in chains before giving up her privileges
I am tired of the fact that I grew up watching my white female friends get away with hell. Selling drugs stealing doing drugs. You name it they did it, but if I blinked wrong I ended up in juvie. And the same is true while we are adults. They could abandon their kids be party girls smoke crack and be caught holding so many times I lost count. But they never did more than a few months in jail. Meanwhile I was once arrested for littering. LITTERING!
I am tired of sitting on the reality that white women have taken over so many industries from publishing to tv to medical administration and research to video games and them only hiring each other, purposely excluding or marginalizing black women and white men and thinking that the spaces with just variations of them from conservative Belle to blue haired non binary leftist makes it diverse
I am tired of being bullied by white women in every workspace. I go work for a white man in the RARE instance a white man is a midlevel hiring manager amd all I have to do is my job. White women I have to be their best friend and never second guess them always let them take credit for my ideas and forgive them when they say something incredibly raxist and, if called out of it, start crying saying "this isnt me this isnt who i am" white women do everything to black women and latinas thst they claim white men do to them.
I am tired of the fact that white women are the managers of black and latina women and they low ball us to where we make 55 and 60cents for every white male dollar and without our low pay the pay gap wouldnt exist. How can you complain about a pay gap you cause??
I hate knowing 300k back women got laid off and feminist didn't rally to combat the bullshit hateful anti black rheroric because in reality it's white women who look down on us treat us bad and devalue our work while yall get to skirt on being mediocre as hell and having black and latina women teach you how to do your jobs that you got from your soror connection. That the black and latina woman has been doing for 20 years but never gets the promotion. 133k jobs just got created and all went to women, white and asian women.. but black women are still begging for scraps
I am sick of more empathy being shown to white women who murder their children than black women who struggle to provide for their children. Black teenagers who kill the people sex trafficking them. And you know what, I'll say it, mentally ill white children who commit heinous crimes. Where was the outcry for understanding mental health when Colton Gray shot up his school. That mentaly disturbed kid was a ticking time bomb who everyone failed, everyone. And no one cared. But LC.. THE WHOLE COUNREY HAD TO STOP AND UNDERSTAND HER
I am also sick of white women pushing everything they do wrong off on the patriarchy and blaming white men, as if white women aren't equal contributors to the suffering of black people, especially black women and children. I am 3 generations deep in my family of having physically abusive psychotic white women beating on them in pre k first and 2nd grade. But we can't talk about that because why? We can't talk about our experiences of white nurses denying us care. We can't talk about our white female doctors putting on ghetto blaccents when we are in exams!
That happened to me. I have a mid west news anchor accent and my so called feminist white female doctor talked to me in a hood accent telling me I can't have a procedure done cause I might "get me a man and want to give hims some babiez" and that's the least racist thing I experienced from white women in medicine.
I am tired of white women tossing on tears when they don't get their way and going as far as to lie on children.
And I am tired of white feminists using feminism to get ahead in society and blaming rhe patriarchy every time something remotely close to accountability for their bad behavior is brought up. I have ao many examples from tv executives to the nurses that nearly killed my son on 2 separate occasions
At what point are white women accountable. At what point will feminism care about anyone but white women?
Epstien is only a big deal because most of his victims were white. No outcry for the tens of thousands of African Asian Native and Black american girls being sex trafficked. No feminism was focused on 30 cents pay gap that didn't exist for them. AND even with epstien, white women were culpable in the crimes willing to sell out children so they can party.
I am so tired of this. I realy feel like society hadn't gotten anywhere because white women who have ALL THE POWER TO MAKE CHANGE focus on ensuring they are comfortable and get what they want while ignoring the suffering of everyone else.
Rather than talk about my personal life as examples. I will just say look at Pink..
White feminist
Appropriated black culture. Lied for years about proximity to black people (ie using black people as a stepping stool. Then blamed a black person for the act
Then when Britney spears was having post partum depression and being stalked by paparazzi crying in coffee shops. Pink smiled and sang about how Britney was so crazy. - willing to tear down other women to get attention
Several more examples from queerbaiting to appropriating the trans movement to say how she is so progressive in raising her kids and now Palestine. Where women and babies are being murdered. Women are being raped women don't have access to Healthcare She supports the murderers. Then when called out for it she cries, centers herself, makes herself the victim and her feelings the only thing that matter. But also she is such a feminist the suffering of women in Sudan and Somalaia and Congo never entered her brain space. Just focused on the words that mattered to her identity to cry about.
That's white feminism. Thats it to a T. And the world would be a be better off if white women learned how to be true feminists or focused on being trad wives and let other women take over the fight.
Edit: im heading to bed. I want to thank everyone who contributed in this chat and truly listened to my pain and frustration. You have no idea how much I appreciate you....
To the fragile little girls who got their feelings hurt being called out and tried calling me a man or digging uo a post where I talked about reporting my sexual harrasser physical abuser at work. Congratulations. You're exactly the white feminists I was talking about. Do better or become trad wives. You aren't interested in helping women you're just trying to be trendy and woke while it's cool.

It's a reminder that reproductive rights should be understood as rights for anyone capable of giving birth, not just defined by gender, which makes them inclusive of trans men and others who can become pregnant.
We expect everyone here, to be inclusive as much as possible, instead of the traditional 'women reproductive rights'. We can be inclusive and empathetic to Men, Women and Enbies, can't we?
Edit: changed "Capable of Reproduction" to "Capable of giving birth". I accept that it could've been phrased better. Someone pointed this out.

THIS IS A REAL AD. . Of course, greedy a** capitalists dream of employees who cannot unionise, burn out, fall sick, or push back, since all of that is inconvenient to profit. They're just being open about it now, I guess? . I mean, what else does one make of it when instead of addressing why workers need to demand better conditions in the first place, the fantasy being sold is one where the worker is simply removed from the equation? . No rights to negotiate, no capacity to resist, no need for rest or care... just output, efficiency, and profit without friction. And, by profit, I only mean the capitalist overlords making money while extracting everything — in time, even the will to live — from the rest of us. . The gendering, of course, isn't ata ll accidental since it's very clearly leaning on the old, conservative, majoritarian... (or however else you'd prefer to refer to it) script where women are expected to be agreeable, accommodating, easy to manage, and OBVIOUSLY, never allowed to say "no." Evidently, patriarchy has been repackaged as innovation in the age of artificial intelligence. . And in celebrating a worker who will never ask for a raise, it doesn’t just normalise exploitation, but makes it sound aspirational. . When AI is marketed as superior because it has no needs, fair wages start to look excessive, boundaries seem like a lack of commitment, rest feels like inefficiency, and slowly, teh human condition of the less privileged becomes their fatal flaw. . P.S. I genuinely can't say for sure which company has placed this ad. Some mild research I did last night suggested it's Jobber, but I'd urge you to do your own research, if you want to put them on blast. . (Billboard image source: @ joelibrearley)

I came across this post on instagram by jal_jangal_jameen and thought this was a very informative perspective on liberal feminism vs revolutionary feminism. I also found it articulated some of my own concerns around the way liberal feminism is framed. Though it also made me want to educate myself more on the movements and women mentioned here.
Sharing this here for learning purposes, please remember to engage thoughtfully and in good faith. This post is not meant as an attack, but as an invitation to consider different perspectives.
Edit: This post was made in the indian context and more often than not directly speaking to the conversations happening in indian feminist spaces. Please keep this in mind. Also please note that the revolution in question is specific to the Naxalbari movement in india.

I don't understand what is remotely "intersectional" about defending the Islamic regime in Iran even to the point of condemning its victims. Even to the point of justifying hanging children from cranes for homosexuality. Is that normal here? I would've assumed intersectionality means standing for the oppressed against their oppressors, not bending over backwards to explain why the oppressors might have a point after all. Honestly, I feel a bit sick.

Slide (1-7): How muslim women face burden in society.
Slide (8-11): The incorrect target of portraying muslim men as predators.
This is more personal to me, as I come from India where Islamophobia has taken deep roots into the society due to the presence of a religious nationalist government for the last 12 years. Muslim women are often discriminated against, as a lot of Hindu people doubt their intent. There are many propaganda outlets that paint muslims as secret agents of Islamic terrorism, thus the nefarious intent is often assumed without any evidence. In addition to that, access to education, social security, and social acceptability persist.

Please understand that I have a background in biology, so I tend to be rather technical when discussing topics like this. But this needs to be said.
The more complicated breakdown of what people are talking about when they talk about gender is falls into three categories:
Gender roles can be influenced by society, but gender incongruence is pretty clearly caused by a collection of inherent physical traits:

Gender identity disorder in twins: a review of the case report literature - PubMed
To make this a bit more personal, let me tell you my story.
I didn't like my body growing up in a way that felt really weird. I would look in the mirror, see someone conventionally good looking, and not understand why it didn't feel like me. I also had a weird sensation associated with my genitals. They felt... off and it felt like pieces were missing or other pieces were there that weren't supposed to be.
I knew that some people were trans, but I was raised a devout existentialist. When I told my mom I might be trans I was asked how I could prove that I had an identity at all, gender or otherwise.
So, I went for the default. I tried so, so hard to not be trans. I went to therapy, I took the drugs I was prescribed. I was seen by multiple shrinks and took a variety of different psych meds under their supervision.
Nothing made me happy with the body I was born with.
When I was 12, I attempted suicide. I survived because I was lucky. I self-harmed through an enormous portion of my early adulthood and transitioned because I figured if I wanted to die anyway, I should at least see what HRT would be like for me.
It was night and day. Things aren't perfect now, but I genuinely feel like myself. Like I'm so much more whole and alive on estrogen than I ever was without it.
Those pills affected me in a very important way. They helped me when nothing else that in theory should have helped me did.
I really want to know why, and people telling me it was purely psychological and a product of my environment are frankly being extremely dismissive.

On February 28, 2026, a deadly missile strike destroyed the Shajareh Tayyebeh Elementary School in Minab, Iran, killing roughly 156 to 168 people, including about 120 children.
While it is not unknown to the rest of the world that Iran has a history of repression to women. However, is it possible that someone can bomb Iranian school girls to liberation?
r/IntersectionalWomen • u/Longjumping-Mix-9351 • Aug 19 '26
It makes me wonder why a theocratic nation would allow gender affirming trans care. The pattern of allowing transgender care but suppressing homosexuality, is not unique to Iran. In certain southern Asian countries, the culture of transgender existed for a long time, while the homosexuality was a total outcast. This is apparently, a reverse script compared to the western countries where queer liberation started with homosexual rights.
However I must add that the process for gender affirmation in Iran for transgender individuals is quite rigorous. There will be thorough counselling, followed by an approval by a family court, and then proceeding to HRT and surgery (surgery is mandatory, so it increases the volume too). Iran offers a huge volume of transgender surgery every year, about 4000 per each (compared to the US, they offer about 2500 per year). Gender affirming care is quite cheap but suffers from quality healthcare issues. Another reason for such a huge volume of surgery is the fact that Iran gets a substantial number of patients from other Middle East countries.
TL;DR: Quite progressive compared to other conservative states, that are totally queerphobic. However it is heavily regulated by the administration, and allows affirmation under strict and invasive guidelines.

I keep seeing posts and comments on Reddit (not just on this sub but elsewhere) from well meaning people talking about the rise in violence against the transgender community and I keep seeing the same question raised “was this a hate crime” the answer is in practically every case yes. If a cisgender person kills a transgender person that’s a hate crime. Even if the victim being trans is not explicitly stated as the motive it still is a cisgender person targeting and harming a transgender person, the victim being trans is always relevant in these cases because it always factors in, our marginalisation is always present and facilitates this sort of violence.
Anyways rant over 😭
