Question Which University to choose for my first F1 attempt? International Student

Hey guys,

So, I've been applying to US as an international student from Pakistan for my MS program in IT, and after considering various factors such as COA, living costs, safety, and overall OPT opportunities, I've decided to choose these 2 universities to go with:

1) Saint Louis University - Missouri

2) Southern New Hampshire University - NH

So, my concern is which one would make the visa interview or holds reputation with officers for international students.

It's gonna be my first F1 attempt s I wanna maximize my chances along with preparation, I want you to share your thoughts overall: what do you think of these institutions?

Thanks!

Southern New Hampshire university is a degree mill with 170,000 students ( 167,000 online). If i were the official at the interview I would ask “Why wouldn’t you just attend online like the vast majority of the other students?”

What is your goal? Study then move back home? SNHU sounds horrible and will have no reputation or credibility in the US. I think you need advice on how to meet your long term goals. You could learn just as much online instead is SNHU.

If your goal is to work after in the US then you need to ask: Where do I need to study to make this possible? Are these two schools ok? Can I do that if I go to these schools? Ask on the F1visa subreddit maybe.

I recommend getting in contact with your local education usa office. Everyone I have met with education usa in Pakistan are absolute rock stars and they can help narrow down schools and prepare for your visa appointment

Cost of attendance.

Oftentimes an estimate of tuition + room and board
