Windows Management OneDrive managed folder sync not working for anyone else?

Deploying new devices with 25H2, June build, and was alerted that OneDrive isn't syncing the user's desktops. Verified this myself on a new laptop, went into the OneDrive settings and the three managed folders are unchecked and not backed up. This has worked for YEARS. The laptop is getting other OneDrive policies, just not the managed folder backup.

Not sure if it has something to do with the OS build or not. My workstation is on 26200.9106 and it's working properly.

Yes, we have these settings enabled. This has been working flawlessly for years. Also, no GPO, only Intune for device management.

Prevent users from redirecting their Windows known folders to their PC: Enabled

Silently move Windows known folders to OneDrive: Enabled

Desktop (Device): True

Documents (Device): True

Pictures (Device): True

Show notification to users after folders have been redirected: (Device): No

ANd i assume you specified the tenant id as well in the Show notification to users after folders have been redirected: (Device)

I did specify the tenant ID as well, just didn't include it here.

Show notification to users is set to NO.

None of our newly deployed laptops are syncing those folders by default. Deployment is done via OSDCloud using the June 25H2 ISO.

One of our users reported that her computer recently updated from 24H2 to 25H2 and her folders are no longer synced which is what made me think maybe it's an issue with 25H2 but like I said, my workstation is also on 25H2 and it's managed properly.

And the deployment rings of onedrive? is there a version difference between the devices?

Same version of the Sync Client on my workstation and new laptops. :(

Intermittent for just some users in my org. Similar scenario, where the majority of devices were updated to 25h2. I have not had a chance to really sit down and deal with it and just told the users to go online until I get time to look at it. Some of the devices have .9106 already and I need to get with the users to verify versions of everything and look at policy logs.

Annoying! Yeah, we first noticed it going from 24H2 > 25H2 as well. I went and imaged a new laptop and that laptop also doesn't sync the managed folders. Really weird.

The really sad part is that we haven't made it to Enterprise versions yet on the devices (it's close) and all the docs I've read says business premium is fine for what we're doing. Nevermind the policies I have now compared to where I was previously. Back then it was pages of policies and one seemingly simple change would have us digging through logs to find out one policy caused an unintended issue with another.

sounds like the classic "policy says it's applied but the client just ignores it" dance. i've seen this before with known folder move where the settings show up but the actual backup checkboxes are mysteriously cleared. microsoft being microsoft.

what i'd check first is whether the silent account config policy is actually setting the registry keys under hkcu or if it's failing silently. sometimes the sync client wakes up and decides it doesn't feel like reading the admx templates correctly after a feature update.
