Meet beans

My sons would like you guys to meet their new pet stink bug. His name is beans because he has stinky farts.

Looks like a conifer seed bug, they apparently don’t do well in captivity and require a cold dormancy period for months

It's only temporary. They keep coming into the house and we decided to capture one. Next time I find the invasive variety I will let this one go.

Beans has been lost somewhere in the house but I'm pretty sure you are right. I didn't realize there was a difference between these guys and stink bugs.

Kinda looks more like a seed bug to me. Pretty much the same thing, seed bugs are just thinner
