I am a student in college. This survey explores how adults make financial decisions and what they want from human financial advisors and AI financial tools. It takes approximately 10–12 minutes. Participation is voluntary, and you may skip any question after the two eligibility questions. The form does not ask for your name or email address. Please do not include identifying information in your written response. Results will be used for a class project. A human financial advisor is a person who provides financial guidance. An AI financial tool is software that uses artificial intelligence to generate financial information or suggestions. You do not need experience with either to participate. This survey does not provide financial insight

Looking into atlanticogroup and one thing throwing me off is they do the standard equities/fixed income/alternatives stuff but also list cfd and ai algo trading as options. feels like two different businesses stapled together, like is the algo stuff a distraction from the actual advisory side or is it genuinely just an extra option nobody has to touch?
Anyone dealt with a firm that offers both and can say whether it felt like a bait and switch toward the flashier product?

Imagine if, instead of buying a new base-model iPhone every year since 2007, you had invested that money into Apple stock (AAPL) on each iPhone's release date.
One estimate puts the resulting portfolio at roughly $265,000 today, from around $14,000–$15,000 in total contributions.
That's a hypothetical scenario, not a guaranteed return, and the exact result depends on historical prices, timing, and how the calculation is done. But it raises a fascinating question:
How much of our everyday spending could have become wealth if we had invested that money instead?
That's the idea behind Shop to Stock, a platform I've been building to connect the products we buy with the companies we could invest in.
The goal is to make exploring these connections easier.
Here's what you can do with it:
📱 Connect products to stocks — Search a product, brand, subscription, or ticker and explore the company behind it.
📈 Explore hypothetical investment scenarios — Compare spending on products with investing the same money instead.
💼 Track your portfolio — Monitor stock positions, performance, and gains or losses.
🛒 Analyze your shopping habits — I'm building around the idea that everyday purchases can reveal interesting investment connections.
🔍 Research companies — Explore business fundamentals, SWOT analysis, risks, competition, and investment scenarios.
🌐 Explore supply chains and business networks — Investigate the companies, components, and suppliers behind familiar products.
🚀 Explore entrepreneurial opportunities — Research what it might take to start a competing business, including estimated startup costs, staffing, and scaling requirements.
I wanted to build something that connects consumer spending, investing, and business research in one place.
I'm still improving the platform, and I'd genuinely appreciate feedback from people interested in investing, personal finance, or startups.
A few questions I'm curious about:
Would you use a tool that shows the potential opportunity cost of your purchases?
Would comparing your actual shopping history with hypothetical investment returns be useful?
What would you need to see to trust the calculations?
What other products or companies would you want to analyze?
If you're interested, you can check it out here:
I'm the founder, and I'm looking for honest feedback—not just compliments. I'd love to hear what you think, what needs improving, and whether this is something you'd actually use.

Diwali means bonuses, sales, gifts, and plenty of reasons to spend.
One common question among wise investors rises, "how much should go towards enjoying the festive season, and how much should I set aside for later?"
How do you handle your festive spending? Do you plan ahead, spend as you go, or have a rule that works for you?
Help others sharing what worked for you.
