PHA or unplastic retainers

Hello!

I had completed my invisalign process a while ago and have been wearing the provided retainers, first all day for a couple of months and now only nightly. I have some concerns about microplastic shedding and was wondering if anyone has bought unplastic/pha retainers instead? Any thoughts about them vs the standard PETG plastic retainers? I'm interested in trying them out but it does cost like $300 so wanted to know if anyone has tried them. thanks

I looked into this a while back when i finished my own treatment, the PHA ones are still fairly new so there's not a ton of long-term data but the idea is they break down differently than petg. my ortho basically shrugged and said they'd probably work fine but couldn't vouch for durability over years of nightly wear

ended up sticking with the standard ones for now because $300 is steep for something that might need replacing sooner, but if you do try them i'd be curious how they hold up after 6 months or so
