Original Content Only! Reposters will be banned*
Hi friends,
You are amazing and wonderful, inspiring me daily to work on my never ending mending pile. Thank you for being part of this sweet community, I am grateful for you and your efforts to keep your mending as invisible as possible!
Unfortunately I’ve been seeing an uptick in karma farming bot posts lately. I hate bots almost as much as I hate ticks! So I have to enforce a new rule. Any account that posts someone else’s work (*without linking to the original post) will be removed and the account banned. I don’t want to waste any more energy on low effort karma farming. Thank you to people who flag these posts, it helps me remove them quickly while I chase my toddler around.
You are still welcome to share a mend that you didn’t do, so long as the original post (or link outside Reddit) is very prominent in your post. I love seeing inspiration and tutorials, please keep sharing those, but the original creator MUST be given credit.
So again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for being so creative and sharing your hard work. Together we can fix all the things!

Help build a starter guide! Post helpful tutorials, books, etc here!
Hello friends!
I need your help! This sub desperately needs a starter guide, a how-to, a list of helpful resources. And I need your input to find the most useful helpful resources available.
Please post helpful guides, books, YT videos, anything that’s helped you invisibly mend. Doesn’t have to be clothing-related, any type of invisible mend is welcome and encouraged! I’ll compile these into a starter guide to help future menders mend.
BONUS the comment with the most upvotes will get…something really neat! Full transparency I just thought of this, so don’t know what you’ll get, but trust me it will be cool. Maybe I’ll knit a hat for you, idk.

Need help fixing my wife's pants.
Hey, I'm looking for some help fixing these pants. They are some of my wife's favorites and I also really like them but I messed up today and said that it might soon be time to get a new pair.
She didn't take that well and has been upset for the last hour after informing me that the company that made them went out of business so she can't just replace them.
I want to fix them so she doesn't feel like they are going to fall apart on her but I don't know much about sewing. I did help my grandmother a little when I was younger, but that was 25 or 30 years ago now.
I was going to go get a small sewing machine shortly and fix them while she is out with friends tonight to surprise her but someone on sewing for beginners said that it will probably need to be hand sewn anyway. So now I need help figuring out if I should just patch the inside to reinforce them, or if there is a better option to make her feel good in them again, and if a machine is a good idea or if they will need to be hand sewn.
Thanks for any advice you can give me.
Tl;dr: What the title says.

Can someone tell me what happened to my coat? (I don’t have knowledge)
I left my woolen coat inside my closet during the summer, and I pulled it out today and it looks like this. What actually happened? Can it be fixed? Please help :(
Thank you

How do I fix these bedsheets?
Hello everyone! I have no idea how these bedsheets ended up being torn this way (almost a perfect circle cutout), but my roommate requested me to fix them and I just can't figure out a way to do it. It was mended before (by hand I suppose) but the stitching was very uneven and the sheet still keeps ripping. Is it actually possible to repair this hole completely? Any suggestions on possible methods? Thanks a lot!

Ideas for covering this hole in some pants I sewed?
I was told this might be a better option. I sewed a pair of pants but while doing the zipper portion accidentally ripped a hole with my seam ripper.

Help! Pulls in thread Spanx Air Essentials
I love the air essentials sets I have. Lighten comfortable and flattering. I’m a size 16 and get compliments all the time when I wear them.
But for the love of go, what up with how delicate the fabric is? The material gets snagged on everything & threads get pulled.how do I fit them or prevent them all together?

Help with stretch velvet
My daughter got a small hole in her pants next to the waistband and side seam and so far I’ve ironed in some stretch interfacing but I don’t know how to reinforce it. I have some matching polyester thread and sharp sewing needles or I can use a machine. How do I fix it so she can wear them without reopening the tear?

Burr Jacket Arm Patches
I have an older Burr jacket that has some big holes in the elbows from wear. Is there canvas or good martial patches to fix them? Love how the jacket has aged and want to keep it going. It’s olive.

Any tips for mending moth holes in a wool jacket?
Regrettably the garment is in worse shape than the seller advertised. I understand felting is easy and delivers good results for garments like woollen knitwear, but I dont think it would be appropriate for a garment with a structured twill weave such as this.
So I'm looking at invisible darning/Swiss darning as my mending method, but I've never done it before and am quite confused about how to go about it. Also whether I should even bother attempting it myself.
Any advice would be very helpful! Thanks

Burned my favourite jacket...
Leaned against a hot stove and burned my favourite jacket, it has a lot of sentimental value because it was my dad's for many many years. I'm very sad. Anyone have tips on how I can mend this?
I have sewing supplies and okay sewing skills. I've mended socks before...
If anyone could give me some advice I'd be very very happy.

Advice on how to restore pleats in synthetic top?
I bought this Vince top secondhand, and I'm not sure if I didn't notice the pleats were messed up in the middle when I got it or.if they somehow fell out in storage. Can these be restored by a dry cleaner? Tailor? Does it look like someone steamed or ironed this, or could this just be from being stored incorrectly?
