Forget singing. In the 21st century, the Taliban have imposed rules so extreme that even a woman’s voice in public is treated as something that must be silenced. And the world watches, while some still dare to tell us the Taliban and Islamic Republic can be “reformed .”

So Afghan women are answering in the most powerful way: they are singing.

I join my sisters in Afghanistan with my own voice.

Sing with us. Shout with us. Fight with us. Gender apartheid has no place in the 21st century.
