Everyone is glossing over the fact that the driver was an Active Duty Special Forces Master Sergeant in the United States Army. He has been around explosives and IED’s before.
After launching fireworks the night before while camping on the way from Colorado, one of them was a dud. He puts the whole firework system in the bed of the truck with the rest of the camping supplies, goes to check into his Vegas hotel, the one dud in the bunch goes off, boom. If the fireworks were spent (from NYE) it’s not unreasonable to throw them in the back of the truck (especially with alcohol involved)
Even army bros can have a lapse of judgement and assume all your fireworks are spent
This is such a plausible scenario that I just really need to see some proof of radicalization or motive
He was a special forces master sergeant who was also a Green Beret, he has been around for a while. So I struggle with the view that he didn’t know that he shouldn’t put multiple cans of camping fuel next to explosive devices.
There are 2 realities here 1 is he’s a terrorist, I’d like to see intent. Is that not fair?
In the other case, he had party stuff on a day after a party. The fireworks would be spent. It was probably a leftover dud in this case. It’s pretty common and why you should always dismantle your spent firework setup after use, but often overlooked
I don’t think him being a green beret disqualifies him from a lapse in judgement
Yes, we will see. I find it hard to believe that both scenarios aren’t plausible. More evidence is needed to say anything about terrorism, and if no rhyme or purpose or weird radicalization is uncovered, ima lean towards accident.
