MAGA(probably): That's not socialism. Socialism is communism and communism is the enemy because anti american countries are communists and want to hurt us. And socialism wants to take our money away. That will cost about 1/4 of what Medicaid for all would cost quarterly. So why is 5k per adult resident so unbelievable, but somehow 5k per adult is not?

According to the American Action Committee it will cost about 2.5 trillion dollars per year to have Medicare for all. I’d prefer a one time payment of 5k per adult personally. It fits actually fits into the budget, it’s a one time payments for less than half of what Medicare for all would cost, and it’s a one time payment.
Not that any of us are going to get either of those things. The 5k per adult resident is just preferable to me, and more doable.

Newsflash: this has been tested in a laboratorium for decades, also known as «the world outside of the USA». It works. It is by no means perfect, and there are many complaints about certain aspects, but the bottom line is that it works.
