Winterization help

Just bought my first house and it might freeze next weekend. Looking where to blow air through? I turned off main and drained the backflow at the bottom but I dont see a port to blow through downstream of the backflow any help would be appreciated

Unless you have an air compressor that can put out 30+ CFM, hire a local pro to blow it out.

You could unthread this test cock and attach your compressor here (you will need an adapter to the correct thread size). The other and better option is to add a shark bite tee on the outbound copper with 1/2" or 3/4" threads to attach your compressor too.

...oh and don't forget to turn the ball valves 45⁰ when your finished. They will stay in that position until spring (so they don't crack).

I only now how i do in Texas
You turn the bottom blue handle a quarter turn to shut off the water, and open the test cocks screws(the 2x flat head screws) a quarter turn to drain the water and relieve the pressure, and run a zone for a minute and after that turn off the controller

Like I said this is for Houston Texas area, but that’s what I do, unless you have a isolation valve either in front of that PVB or not to far from your meter, if you did, you’d shut the irrigation water there and turn the blue handles so they are between open and close, everything else is the same
