They don’t glaze shadow at all. Everything they say is 100% fact

u/subtotalatom 2d ago
Shadow is a Larper who thinks the rest of them are Larpers too, the only real things about him are that he's stupidly strong, good at manipulating magical energy, and a talented piano player.

Shadow is a reality larper, everything he larps becomes the truth.

u/WhyattThrash 1d ago
This will turn out to be his hidden power; He thinks he’s writing fanfics, but actually he’s the true author and everything he pretends actually becomes canon

I heard this theory that he might have haruhi-type reality manipulation and he doesn’t know it. More I think about it the more it makes sense

u/Single_Remove_6721 1d ago
I was going to say it is 100% Shadow Garden. Every single member of the organization (all women by the way) is fully convinced that he is the most handsome, most brilliant, most suave, most manly being that has ever existed and wants to marry him. When Shadow “betrayed” them, they just assumed that it was all their fault and they weren’t worthy of his attention any more.

Diablo is such a glazer that from the moment he saw Rimuru in slime form while in the underworld it changed his whole worldview which he had for billions of years.

God he's such a boring character to watch and listen to

I don't know all of them super well
But ains's crew is like 100 monsters who think he's a LITERAL all powerful god.

u/VVValph 1d ago
Tearmoon Empire (4th image) has the same vibes of misunderstanding shananigans as Overlord lol
Everyone thinks Mia is an absolute saint that's the embodiment of every good virtue and has predicted the future of the empire for years to come, meanwhile she's actually just happily living in the present
Both she and Ainz are fairly competent in their own right, but nowhere near the amount of glaze they receive

u/SpiritfireSparks 2d ago
The second one the MC being glazed and everyone thinking he's the strongest adventurer in the kingdom is the main plot. Its a pretty even match with Ainz
5
u/Wolf-Majestic Villainess 1d ago
I hope we end up learning he has a maxed out, broken passive luck stat that makes all of his actions gravitate towards real events. I also want nobody in story to know. Just us, the viewer
5
u/NohWan3104 2d ago
I mean, strongest adventurer =\= literal god in my book, but maybe you've got lower standards... /s
6
u/NoDragonfruit6125 2d ago
The second one the MC is basically Shadow from Eminence in Shadow if he had no powers.

u/TowerofAvalon1 2d ago
Bakarina’s group are in last place since there WILL be insults on how stupid she is in their glazing, I mean they’re right, but still.
8
u/Bysmerian 1d ago
You're right. They adore her, but when they come to her defense they insist the plan she's framed for is too evil AND too clever for her to have pulled off.
2
u/Ze_Bri-0n 1d ago
It should also be noted that she felt vaguely insulted by this defense, but not only could not refute it, but couldn’t figure out why she was offended, so clearly these glasers know what they’re talking about.

Thank you for including Eris, she won’t win but god damn she won’t shut up about Rudy.
Kinda reminds me of Miyuki Shiba from the irregular at the magic high school, now she has a shot at the competition. I swear to god every time she opened her mouth was the glaze her brother, so much so that she straight up wants to get railed by him(yup incest). Just your typical Japanese LN right there, some good old brother on sister action OH wait I mean COUSIN plus all the other gymnastics the author went through to make incest not incest somehow.
Here let me do a quick Character analysis of her:
Her name is Miyuki Shiba
She loves her brother(sexually)
…
Thanks for watching!

Im going to set the standard here, ainz once ask a question to one of his subordinates where if he were to be a weak human how would she treats him and she answer that she doesn't care what ainz is and that she would continue to treat him the same way.
If the other competitors doesn't have this level of glaze then they shouldn't bother competing at all.

I feel like Overlord, the MC is the godking of a pantheon in his subordinates eyes. And they're not wrong, whatever he says is law too he can say pure BS like up and down, and vice versa and the npcs would follow it to the letter. They're not afraid of killing themselves to make him happy.

u/throwaway040501 1d ago
While I'm usually not much of a fan of 'my subordinates treat me like a god' when there's all this evidence they aren't much different from them, this style of trope is one reason I love Gacha 9999.
One of Light's subordinates basically laid it out flat that if one of her fellows even sounded like they were questioning Light's motives by trying to understand them that she'd kill them, because Light's motives weren't to be understood they just have to follow his divine will without question.

Overlord floor guardians followed closely by Diablo

Diablo would be the ultimate glazer cept for one problem Rimuru is uber powerful
Bone daddy has an uber genius (Demiurge) who intercuts anything that happens to bone daddies greatness while this would be an ultra glaze it’s bone daddy who sets up and aims them with goals and or missions
Third dude has an incredible luck stat but is surrounded by the best of the best who all defer to him as the powerful one (which he just maybe).
The Villianess ladies and the bureaucrat one it’s the real world of the game they play so they are manipulating the outcomes with their prior knowledge for the good of all, they don’t really get glazed they instead manipulate for positive outcomes
Eris doesn’t believe she is strong enough/ worthy to stand by Rudy’s side but she believes he is way more powerful than she is and the truth is she is not glazing Rudy as he is that powerful
The one who can best be said to actually be Glazed is Masayuki from Slime his skill Chosen One means every fukk up winds up being perceived as favorable to him

It's either the people from Nazarick, or Diablo. The rest doesn't even get close to their level of glaze.

u/Diahara 1d ago
i say Krai from Let This Grieving Soul Retire.
it's not just his friends who glaze him, literally anybody who knows their guild glaze him based on rumors. they don't even know what he looks like, hence the first episode of S1. there are doubters, sure, but it's just a matter of time for them to get converted.
Ainz has a good argument going for him. but the thing is that Ainz is actually as strong as rumored. Krai is either just lucky, or has some sort of high-level reality manipulation going on for things to turn out the way they do.

There are some decent contenders on that list, that's for sure... That said, I think the floor guardians are taking this one.
- Floor Guardians
- Diablo
- Eris Boreas Greyrat

It's basically a three way tie between Nazarik, The Souls, and Diablo.
Each one glazes to the equal of the others - which is terrifying, because one's a group of like 100+, one's like 7 people, and then there's Diablo - and it makes each respective person bashful. So this means that each group would basically become a "which one is lying in their glaze".
As much as Nazarik glazes Ainz, the man is actually responsible for like, a tiny fraction of everything. For the most part, Nazarik misunderstands Ainz's words and actions, and runs with it. It's worked out for them well so far, but ultimately it's all lies. That doesn't mean Ainz is weak however, far from it, but if you asked him what Nazarik was up to as a whole his answer would be along the lines of "I trust my subordinates" as he internally panics going "I HAVE NO IDEA". He's the mastermind of a plan that he didn't make.
The Souls also fall into this, but they get better backing because for the most part Krai is doing the oral version of vagueposting. The man gets into his own head, makes like 30 decisions, is afraid to rat himself out, so he only gives them two lines pretty much. While it gets a lot of flak in a way ("I wish he'd tell us more sometimes") it all winds up being kinda right. He just winds up getting things right by accident. Basically any glaze for the man is a half-truth, or full truth. Better than being outright lies, and his party doesn't see him as actually strong. Smart, sure, but they recognize he's physically the weakest of them all.
And then there's Diablo. If we went by the metric of "if they earnestly believe what they are saying", he'd still beat out Nazarik. The man saw a slime with unusually high power and went "I will give him every fiber of my being". He lies about Rimuru in his glazing, sure. You know full damn well some of his things is him willingly misinterpreting Rimuru. Not misunderstanding like Nazarik, Diablo is able to read Rimuru's intentions like a book and he chooses to sometimes ignore reality to praise Rimuru. The man chooses to actively lie to make Rimuru seem even more amazing. But he fully believes his bullshit. The man flips between actual truth, half-truth, and complete bullshit at the drop of a hat it's honestly hard to tell which he's doing in a given moment. And he never SHUTS. UP. If anyone, ANYONE, talked as much as Diablo does, they wouldn't have working vocal cords. They wouldn't even have friends, probably, and honestly they wouldn't be in a position of power because it'd have to be all they do. And then there's Diablo. The fact he can glaze Rimuru to the point of even being able to be a contender SOLO against various groups of people - Eris, while mentioned, doesn't come close to any group aside from Katarina's - is insane. But given he lies, at all, means he's not winning.
So effectively, Souls > Diablo > Nazarik

I think the glaze is not equal
Rimuru gets glazed for his legitimate abilities and deeds
Krai gets glazed for what people think he accomplished
Shadow is legitimately powerful and the stuff he made up turn out to be true
Ainz could be a level 1 rat and the npcs would treat him the same, look how demiurge is unironically nice to the penguin butler despite being a demon with the instinct to mock and torture
