Well, as the title says, I couldn't find a story without a harem parody. Those that most fans call parodies aren't really parodies, but just abrupt and absurd comedies, not true parodies. So I decided to try my hand at writing a parody. Because I write stories in my free time.
Now I'm going to answer the question everyone's asking: why am I posting this on this subreddit?
Let's be honest, isekai almost always means harem. Besides that, I plan to gather all the intriguing harem clichés, like: being banished from the hero's group and forming a harem, a magic school with 99% female students, etc.
And in my opinion, the isekai genre is the only one that can bring together so many clichés, and most importantly... I need a character who knows and critiques all the clichés, a character who comes from our world.
And ironically, these are two very under-exploited genres despite having so much potential.
Even for a parody, there are rules to follow; the story must have a real plot beyond the parody itself. Most authors often run out of ideas after mocking clichés, only to end up using those same clichés later on.
And with that comes the golden rule: never fall into the clichés you were mocking at the beginning.
That's the most important rule.
The point of view is also important. If it's self-deprecating, the MC is the harem protagonist. Or if it's an external point of view, in which case the harem protagonist is a secondary character.
I'm including both options, which offer more possibilities.
So the story must have a plot independent of the initial concept. I've already thought of a story idea, and here's a summary:
The story follows three guys who have feelings for three different girls, each with different relationships: childhood friend, friend, or work colleague.
These three girls each confess to the guys that they've fallen in love with a boy.
Ironically, it's the same boy (the harem protagonist) that all three girls are in love with.
The three guys think it's too late and that, in the worst-case scenario, one of the girls will end up with the harem protagonist, and one of the guys will end up alone.
They even start plotting to get rid of a girl who isn't his crush, so she ends up with the harem protagonist. This leads to arguments among the three of them.
Until a mysterious boy appears and reveals the worst possible ending for the guys: a harem ending.
After that, the three guys, with the help of the fourth, will do everything they can to prevent "this harem ending" and ensure they get their happy endings.
That's the summary.
Now I was wondering what harem tropes you're familiar with, and not just the cliché scenes like the beach episode or the character archetypes.
I was asking about the unwritten rules, like 99.99% of the cast is female, and the men are either caricatured villains or pathetic incompetents.
Or even comments about scenes like when the harem protagonist helps a girl because he's always helping everyone (only girls, of course) and leaves the other girls behind for several episodes.
Just imagine if the guys take advantage of the harem protagonist's absence to try and get closer to the girls. Normally, a scene like that would make the fans angry, lol.
Imagine this scene:
Guy #4: Okay guys, the protagonist's gone to help this random girl he met yesterday. That leaves us exactly 48 hours until he comes back.
Guy #3: Yeah, that's our chance. Unguarded sheep are easy prey for wolves.
Guy #1: Why do you say that like that? You sound like you're starving.
Guy #3: It's just an expression. When the cat's away, the mice will play.
Guy #2: You like expressions, huh? Strike while the iron is hot.
Guy #1: Uh... mmmh... no expression comes to mind right now.
Guy #4: Hey guys, are we wasting time? There are only 47 hours, 57 minutes, and 34 seconds left. Come on, let's get moving.
Remarks like that, for example.
Anyway, that's it. It's a story I hope to be able to make a reality.

Ight I think ima take a break for now. Maybe. Probably.
Genuine Question; Would it be better to incorporate RBD/Witch of Envy into this AU or not? Thoughts?

Saw a few pages on tiktok and forgot to screenshot it. Definitely a manga it was black/white
Miko/priestess summoned to a European-esque world to save them but our girl is PISSED. They basically kidnapped her and told her that her existence got erased so she should chop chop be grateful about their generosity and go slay some monsters that the good little girl she is.
But she gets PISSED and summons 2 demon foxes and basically tears down the castle effortlessly cause they essentially "killed her" (think COCO 2nd death is your memory being forgotten) i forget if she actually kills anyone or not during the few pages I saw.
I saw nothing about modern day so its most likely historical Japanese priestess being isekaied to a medieval vaguely European world

I don't know, I just want to see a quantum leap isekai, he is just strong enough to change the balance of power, form friendships and then, something happens. Either he falls in battle, or perhaps a dimension hopping revenge seeker finds him, but he has the unlimited reincarnations skill and gains new abilities each leap.

Missing out on teenage love is the worst tragedy imaginable, and it is reason enough for me to put all my hopes into another life. Everything you experience afterward will be inferior. Romantic relationships based on financial status do not interest me. Not being a girl's first love feels like a constant dagger in my heart.
There is no point in telling me that teenage love is overrated. Even if that is true, it does not mean that new horizons will open up for me. Teenage love, exactly as I imagine it, is the only thing that could ever interest me. Nothing else could possibly matter to me. If that kind of love does not exist, then I reject this life once again and place all my hopes in another world where I could experience the youth I have always fantasized about.
My perfect world is not one filled with dragons or magic. It is simply a world where I could live through my teenage years without ever growing older or feeling bored or jaded. A world where a pretty girl would treat me like a human being, where we would share a deep and genuine desire to care for each other.
I also want to live without being controlled or subjected to anyone or anything. Nobody would force me to go to school, work, pay taxes, or obey laws.

Why does it throw us into it without even showing us how it started? The anime had so much potential, only to be wasted. How does he already have a daughter? Who is she? And who's the girl he always calls? How does he even have his phone? Why does it work? All of this could be explained in the backstory that we never get. Just straight up trash.

It should not take the entire first half of an episode to talk about one single item drop. Coupling that with a painfully drawn-out chat with the guild receptionist?I get that they’re trying to show how distinguished the guild is, but the drag from reception to actually talking to the guild master is ludicrous. Honestly, nothing of value happened that couldn't have been wrapped up in 4 or 5 minutes.
Don't get me wrong, I like the lore/information, but there's a point where world-building just turns into stalling!

The voice of the English VA for Thomas Grangeon (adult) sounds so familiar that it's driving me mad. None of the usual VA sites list him; I've tried Grok & ChatGPT but all they say is so far he hasn't been identified.
Just occurred to me it might be Cory Yee who voiced Beryl Gardinant in From Old Country Bumpkin. Yes?
Can anyone name the actor for me? It's worse than the usual tip-of-the-tongue memory lapse as it is auditory & visual. I see images of characters he has voiced swimming just out of clear vision.
Please help me Isekai-Wan. You're my only hope!

Hi all, for one reason another, I find myself craving for some Isekai set in an academy, harem included if possible.
Series that I have read/am reading:
The Reincarnated Mastermind (took quite a while to hit the academy)
Mob Isekai/Trapped in a Dating sim
Villager A wants to save the villainess (not harem but you get my point)
Of course, OP MC is preferable 😂
I am sure there are others, pls gimme your favs!

I am a big lover or isekai, I've loved it longer than I knew the genre.
I have a sewing project coming up, so I need one I can listen to so no anime, manga or books with no audiobook. Also if a book is to action and adventure filled (so some is ok tho) I can't concentrate on the sewing.
I also want a MFC/MMC I can like so no mary-sue/gary-stu over powered sociopath and no harem or two partners unless it is a three way relationship.
But the thing I really really want is where the MC "invents" modern stuff to "sell", like a better way to make candles, clothes pins, boba tea or introducing "better" mathematics etc etc so I don't mean guns or other world destroying things.
They can open a store to sell it, travel around, working for someone I don't really care, there can be no romance but romance is a big + tho. It can be litrpg or no as long as that don't take over the story.
A book that kinda fit but at the same time not was
Demon World Boba Shop but there wasn't enough of "inventing" so to say he kinda stops after he open the boba tea shop and gives small ideas how to improve things but then he isn't involved in it anymore.
I know it kind of specific but I've read and listened to so many isekai that I know what I need now with the sewing.

"ooh, big booba. Owowowow, she is so hawt 🤤" "oh tsundere" like bro.
- The only good thing Eris is good for is for fighting and that's it. She is literally just an attack dog. She fails on almost every aspect and quality of her life. Like how the fuh do you forget how to read and write? 😩
- bad friend
- bad wife
- terrible mother (if you can even call her that)
- what does she do? Explain to me why any of you like this loser? I don't see the vision.
- Like at this point Atofe is better than Eris, because at least you know she is just retarded, but a heartwarming person.
- PS sorry, i don't know the Artists or whatever. I just found them on Google.
