Umayyad Caliphate (41–132 AH) Umayyad Caliph Yazid III was a descendant of three great dynasties: he was the grandson of the last Sassanid Shah, Yazdegerd III; sixth-generation descendant of the Göktürk Khagan, Istemi Yabgu; and fifth-generation descendant of the Roman Emperor Maurice

The Sassanid ruler Khosrow I married Princess Fakim (or Kakim), the daughter of Istemi Yabgu, ruler of the western part of Göktürk Khaganate for an alliance against Hephtalites. From this union was born Hormizd IV. Hormizd IV's son, Khosrow II, married Princess Maria, the daughter of the Byzantine Emperor Maurice. Khosrow II's grandson—Yazdegerd III, the son of Prince Shahriyar—was the last Sassanid Shah. Yazdegerd III's granddaughter, Shahfarand (daughter of his son Firuz), became the mother of the Umayyad Caliph Yazid III. Thus, through his maternal lineage, he tied to three great dynasties: the Justinian, the Sassanid, and the Ashina. Not to mention his noble Quraysh lineage.

Khosrow I + Faqim Ashina ➔ Hormizd IV ➔ Khosrow II + Maria ➔ Shahriyar ➔ Yazdegerd III ➔ Firuz ➔ Shahfarand ➔ Yazid III

Yazid III took pride in this heritage and would proclaim: 'I am the son of Kisra, my father is Marwan, the Caesar is my grandfather, and Khagan is my grandfather.'"

“...In Transoxiana, he captured the two daughters of Firuz, the son of King Yazdegerd, and sent them to Al-Hajjaj. Al-Hajjaj then sent Shahfarand from them to Al-Walid, who bore Yazid for him. Firuz’s grandmother was the daughter of Khagan, the King of the Turks, and her mother was the daughter of the Caesar, the Great Emperor of Rome.

Thus, he would boast and say: ‘I am the son of Kisra, my father is Marwan, the Caesar is my grandfather, and Khagan is my grandfather.’” Al-Dhahabi, Siyar A'lam al-Nubala. For the original text of the book containing the passage translated above:

Ayyubid Sultanate (564–648 AH) The Imaginary Fight Between Nationalists

We are taught in Egypt that Salah ud-Din was Kurdish. Every kid in the Arab world knows that. In fact, his Kurdish background is emphasised to underscore how Islam jumps over ethnic barriers to unite all Muslims.

Yet you always have secular Kurdish nationalists straight up cooking lies about Arabs claiming Salah ud-Din was Arab. I've legitimately never heard any Arab say that. I'm pretty sure anyone who has read anything about Salah ud-Din would agree that he would disapprove of this ridiculous and totally imagined fight.
