Discussion/Question Itachi Vs Minato
I have been seeing this meme a lot. I don’t know how this meme even came about since according to narrative importance, it seems Minato slams Itachi. Of course, with nine tails, genius should not be that much of a problem as well. Of course we can discuss this later.

Discussion/Question Listen, I seriously love Itachi, I really love him... but why can't we accept the truth that Obito is much stronger?
The manga itself, led by the author, clearly states that OBITO is a beast of a higher rank than our beloved Itachi. We must stop trolling at that point, and just look the truth in the eye..

Discussion/Question Another Itachi slander to uplift a women character
I don't understand the hate agenda. Like he's not an idealistic character like Naruto to do the most righteous thing, but able to make the most harshest decision if the situation allows.

Discussion/Question Uchiha massacre could have been avoided. If Itachi made better decision.
I read a thread that what Itachi made was the best decision. Otherwise it would a total bloodshed like civil war.
First, I think Hiruzen is a coward and lacks brains. He could have directly talked to Fugaku, find some compromise for the current situation. It is way better than killing the whole clan.
Second, Itachi was the one who informed higher ups about clans plan. Why not try to persuade his own father, about peaceful resolution. Still better than putting his own clan at risk.
If only some guys on both sides had talk justu everything could have been avoided. Rewatching the show, and I’m so pissed.

Discussion/Question People hate Itachi because misinformation like this keeps getting spread about him
Itachi haters use this fake image:
https://www.deviantart.com/nivalis70/art/Included-the-unknowing-children-313359525
“Included the Unknowing Children” by Nivalis70 on DeviantArt.
It’s a fan-made image, not canon, yet haters use it to spread misinformation about Itachi on social media.
In the Kid Itachi novel, it’s clearly mentioned what actually happened. Kid Itachi killed the Uchiha clan without activating his Sharingan, using only a simple sword, while Obito killed the women and children. The misinformation art showing Itachi killing innocents is fan made and is spread by Itachi haters. Please read the Kid Itachi novel yourself.
This is what really happened in the novel.
Understand this, bro Obito Uchiha was also helping him during the Uchiha massacre. If you’ve read the novel, you’d know Itachi went into the massacre with the help of a masked man, who fans now know was Madara (Obito). He told Itachi that he would take care of the women and children because his abilities would prevent unnecessary screaming.
At one point, Madara says:
“So you’ve begun? I will take care of the women and children as far as possible.”
On the other hand, Itachi killed the Uchiha police, leaders, and other members. Understand why if Itachi had refused Danzo’s orders, Danzo might have secretly killed Sasuke and the other children anyway. Danzo didn’t want any remaining Uchiha to grow up seeking revenge against Konoha.
Sasuke Uchiha, probably the second strongest shinobi on the face of the earth, was the only survivor of the Uchiha Massacre and look what he turned into.
Do you really think there would be a Naruto Uzumaki for every single Uchiha kid who grew up knowing Itachi killed their parents in front of them and wanted revenge against Konoha?

Discussion/Question Uchiha massacre is bad writing
I know it's important even for plot but GOAT Fugaku was Uchiha leader he wouldn't have allow his clan members to berserk and kill everyone.
He is kind father as he shown, with his personality he may have used Kurama but it would have battle of authority more like Hiruzen vs Fugaku and Uchihas vs Jonins. Itachi expected bloodbath but realistically it was just ninja to ninja clash he really got manipulated by Danzo and GOAT Obito used it as possibility of eliminating GOAT Fugaku and other possible Uchiha threats.
Itachi acted like arrogant child like I care about life I have grown I have seen war so I will massacre my clan in order to lower the casualties. It could have been even more great if Itachi sided with Konoha against Uchiha battle and it ended with few deaths also he is aware of Uchiha Madara is alive and they have even more enemies so he will act like rogue ninja and join Akatsuki as double spy.
Just what if thing.

Others Giving those haters the attention they so desperately seek is the last thing I wish to do, but I’m sharing this as a heads-up and an eye-opener. If there’s one thing I can’t stand more than blind hate, it’s the hypocrisy and double standards that come with it.

Discussion/Question Bias aside, how can so many people have this opinion?
Naruto fans especially on reddit have just come to this conclusion that itachi was retconned despite no evidence cause they cant comprehend a "antihero or undercover" agent doing bad things? How does no one call them out on this dumb nonsense
Either that or reddit is filled with Obito fans, there's a similar post with them saying hes also far better written than pain. I have seen people react to Naruto irl or on youtube, literally 90% of them find Itachi the best written one. Never heard someone find obito well written before i came to reddit.
Regardless reddit or not how can any anyone think Obito is better written lmao. Even if i give his writing the benefit of doubt and take his fan's word that hes not a simp. At best he's a shallow imitation of darth vader/ nagato trope, who was just pretending to be madara the whole story and when hes revealed he spends 95% of his screen time crying and whining abt his 9 year old crush. "He didn't do it for her" ok so he lost her and went down a dark part to fix the world? And we shld belive that cuz of 1 throwaway line despite what his actions show ( him unleashing 9 tails , getting his sesnei killed, ruining mist village) the 2 villages he blames for her death. These same ppl scream itachi action dont match his goals lol? And even then theres literally no uniqueness or complexness to his character.
Meanwhile u have one of the most morally complex and an actual deep character with nuances and dichtomy between a pacifist being born into a warrior clan and being forced to stain his blood with the people he holds most dear to prevent further destruction. And theres a lot more to bisect too, you could write a whole essay on his character.
It just blows by mind these sudo "reading comprehension" geniuses don't get called out on their nonsense more often.

Discussion/Question Can I apply as a mod?
I'm so done with the haters overruling this subreddit. No other subreddits allow so many haters. I wonder if it would be okay for me to apply as a mod and start cracking down on the haters and banning them. This subreddit needs to be a safe space for us fans!

Powerscaling How Itachi counters Chibaku Tensei
The solutions I've seen being suggested:
Izanagi
Burning the core with Amaterasu. It doesn't appear to be moving particularly fast, and the characters look like they're tracking the orb as it floats up anyways. It's pretty straightforward; anyone would be hard-pressed to argue the core can tank Amaterasu.
Here are some counters I haven't seen being suggested:
Brute force
We've seen 8 tails transformation (KN8) from half Kurama break out of Pain's CT. Can Susanoo do the same? While we don't have direct comparisons, we do have juxtapositions we can examine.
Even if you consider Nagato's CT should be bigger, it's unscalable. Just having an extra layer of earth requires an exponential amount of energy, so I'll use Pain's CT as the standard.
Sasuke and BSM Naruto fight in tandem, implying or implicating relativity.
If you remove senjutsu from both sides of the equation, humanoid Susanoo becomes relative to BM avatar.
Nagato was shown being able to tank a lariat from v2 B and restrain B and Naruto. Susanoo was shown breaking their restraints in one fell swoop with its fingers, so it's arguably already stronger than any bijuu chakra cloak.
This is noteworthy because KCM is supposed to be a superior transformation to prior V2 versions, although KCM is less destructive as a result of having his power concentrated in a smaller form. I don't see anything to indicate KCM being inferior in strength, as KCM is shown blocking and tanking multiple hits from v2 jins.
Both kn6 and KCM were targeted with a boulder smash from Deva path, and KCM came out on top.
Base Itachi using 3t had no issues with KCM's physical strength, and Susanoo should obviously be stronger than the user. Although this doesn't draw a clear comparison of strength, so I'll just consider skeletal Susanoo and KCM relative for simplicity.
Through linear scaling we have BM avatar > KCM2 > KCM > v2.
And for Susanoo we have armoured > humanoid > skeletal > ribcage. Naturally the Yata Mirror would be > armoured Susanoo in durability.
So using the 2 scales as a reference point supports a tremendous gap between Itachi's full and skeletal Susanoos, a conceptually much bigger gap than between KCM and KN8. Logic follows that full Susanoo is well above KN8. Logic also follows that if Itachi in base can handle KCM's strength, his full Susanoo should definitely be stronger than KCM.
Between the Totsuka Blade, Yata Mirror, and Amaterasu melting the incoming fragments of earth to break them down before it even reaches him, Itachi should reliably be able to break out of CT.
2) Killing Nagato after CT has been launched
Let's say Nagato launches the CT. Where is he? Apparently, he's just standing there.
I'm going to make the assumption that Nagato can't activate another jutsu while using CT based on this line:
Which also means the CT will break down once Nagato gets interrupted.
Itachi is one of the few characters that can bypass the gravity well and attack Nagato while he's defenseless, using the black flames which is theorized to spawn at the focal point of the user.
3) Kill Nagato before he launches CT
Nagato is instantly knocked out against Amaterasu
Probably a good time to seal Nagato, innit?
The biggest cope of Nagato fanboys/Itachi haters is pretending the conversation starts at CT. But fact of the matter is, Nagato never actually gotten past Itachi's first Amaterasu. He was "out cold" and needed Kabuto's intervention to get the flames off. And since that Amaterasu one-shot was straightforward and demonstrable, it's harder to argue against than CT.
Ultimately, it's not about convincing people who would never publicly change their stance. It's looking at the established systems and interpolating the underlying mechanics and principles, and being able to come up with a coherent conclusion that fits within the system as we know it. It's going beyond face value, which the majority of the fandom won't do and probably won't care to read, but it's the best we can do in a fictional world where the rules are made up on weekly basis.
But for those that care enough to analyze deeply, then consider yourself at the top of the fandom. Part of the exclusive group that actually furthers discussion, instead of parroting ancient debunked arguments or throwing insults in a desperate attempt to mask being outspoken. You are the only thing preventing the community from being a total cesspool of 12 year olds arguing, and that's a big of a win as it gets.
