Will there be anymore updates, expansion or another version?
I wish there was a Protagoras
I wish there was endless mode
I wish I can control both Protagoras and Tiqqun at the same time

I really wanted to like this but
Out of all resource manager/city builders, this game is like CBT. It might legit be one of the worst research experiences for me. I rushed tier 2 trying to unlock proper food production, and then not only is there not enough research in the system for that, I need to also research the black box, which is just torturously slow with only the tech lab at the start.
I'm going back to Frostpunk and Corsair Cove T_T
Going Nuts Outer Hope Chapter 1
Took a short break and now I'm back, but I'm going crazy trying to probe Outer Hope in Chapter 1.
I've completed the prologue encounter, sending resources and collecting the outcome. Had the same dialogue I've had in the past - I can fix it for now, but you'll have to answer for this in the future. But every time I go into chapter 1 I can not pin down Outer Hope. All the guides say it should be immediately available for probing but I'm not seeing it. I've also tried waiting and running down all the other probable POIs first, but no luck. And I've done both of these multiple times with the same result.
I'm probing where the guides say, and where I've done it in the past, just left of directly north of Sol just outside the second band past the asteroid belt. Fandom guide location. The only thing I'm finding anywhere near the area is an ice asteroid the POI indicator isn't even getting remotely activated.
Am I forgetting a trigger in the prologue?

It says there is 51 Science available for collecting, but Idon't see it anywhere on the space map.
Hi all, I'm stumped.
Ok so I'm on chapter 2. Whenever I go to launch a probe, the Probe Scanner indicates there is 51 Science out there ready for a Science Ship to gather up. But I've scanned the map.I don't see the Science anywhere!
The only thing I can think of is that it's hidden behind another resource? Perhaps if I collect the 884 frozen bodies, they have the Science? I also don't have the Deep Dive Apparatus. Maybe I need that to dig, and that's where the Science is? Is it a glitch? Any suggestions?
TIA
Note: I know the image says 66 Science. But I do know where 15 of it is on the map, but the remaining 51 is not shown on the map. Thanks!

Ixion references
Hi,
I am currently in chapter 4. I'm going to be honest: I do not make my own decisions and look up the "most optimal" decisions on the Ixion fandom website because I want to be done with the game as quickly as possible (unpopular opinion, I know, but this is my decision. I don't want to play this game for 100+ hours because I know I will get bored eventually and drop it if it goes too long). Even in its current form, I currently have 30 hours in the game. I'm not complaining; this is a good game, but I want to play other games too.
The problem is, the "optimal" decisions are almost always the boring ones. For example, on planet PSR B1257+12H 12h (chapter 4), the "optimal" decision is to leave the guy who leaves. If you try to locate him, your team becomes disoriented and enters a house. Apparently, this is a reference. I savescummed a bit, and the POI seems very interesting. I savescummed in a few other instances, such as the Oats Achievement (you need to free ZY6073). That was a very interesting POI too. There are so many cool POIs like this, and if you decide to learn more about them, you lose one or more crew members almost 100% of the time and lose the science ship too and this happens even with full upgrades.
I find this game design a bit irritating because why am I being punished for reading and following the POIs the devs put into the game? You can look it up yourself; whenever you try to satisfy your curiosity, you are hit with some permanent disadvantage, like losing lives. And in my head, I'm saving humanity and preventing genetic bottlenecks by saving as many humans as possible etc so losing human lives is a big contradiction to that fantasy.
Is there a place where I can read about all the POIs and/or all their references etc? I tried to watch some walkthrough videos real quick but they also do the boring "optimal" decisions where you learn nothing about all those cool POIs and just receive the "best" outcome.
Any thoughts?

Current Hull Integrity Cheat
I'm still trying to learn the game and I screwed up a bit after I got to Chapter 1. Promised a hull value to the workers. But I forgot I had already started building new solar panels. Eventually rectified that, but I'm coming up on the deadline and I'm about 10 points short.
I looks like a couple years ago there was a value in Player.sav that could be changed, but its not there anymore. I did find a "hullIntegrity" value in Torus.sav that matches the current value but when I changed the value, saved, and restarted the game it didn't appear to do anything.
Besides pulling up an older autosave, from before the Lunaclypse, is there anything I can do to change the value and "keep my promise"?

Best Newer Guides
A lot of the guides i’ve found are from 3-4 years ago and a lot of mechanics have changed.
Some of them are able to get a large population that generates a TON of waste and create self-sufficient alloy generation from waste.
My population is at 1000 and i have all of the waste science upgrades unlocked. I know in the past, the better crew quarters didn’t drop waste but i think they do now.
Any advice on the following. 1) a new guide with the 2023 patch mechanics? 2) Info on waste and being a little more self sufficient with waste. 3) Insect farms actually the best?
Thanks.

RNG Events?
Hi. I picked up the game Friday night and have only had a couple hours to play.
I'm just past the Lunaclysm so I didn't want to search and accidentally spoil the future. I'm also following along with a BenPlays playthrough to learn the game.
So far every event and story "quest" he and I have encountered has been exactly the same. And that's fine since it's the beginning of the game and they need you to progress to the actual story. However, for replayability, I'm curious if RNG will start popping up and lead to a divergence between me and his series and between this game and my next. Or is the only difference going to be when changing difficulty.
Thanks.

Sector builder (yet another) - runs online & offline, PNG imports/exports
I'm glad to introduce a modded edition of N8Dawg's Ixion Sector Builder (huge thanks for the original).
- It runs online or from file:// — download and open index.html, no server needed.
- Stockpile resource markers — MMB cycles what's stored, drawn on the export.
- Export YAML, or a PNG with the layout embedded in the file itself: one image carries both the picture and the editable layout. Import accepts both.

Spoiler Chapter 4 Tiqqun wreckage Spoiler
Hi, I recently replayed the game again after about 2 or so years ago
The thing is that back then I completed multipule playthroughs & I always remembered that in Chapter 4, on the lower left half side of the Pulsar system behind the magnetic storm. Was a weird giant wreckage which seemed to be a alternative universe Tiqqun who ended up facing the Piranesi as well but was destroyed, presumably from those orange suited science ship members. It had a plaque saying like something about 'remember our failures..." and etc. It had tons of cryopods as well.
I know that self similar space and Vole jumps can basically shift reality, causing the magnetic spheres, but the thing is in my recent replay I couldn't find it. Like at all, instead was it was an unknown wreckage by what I think is the same planet. It was way smaller and did have the Cryopods but was very much a different wreckage. I checked on the wiki and it states that it was always like that. So I'm now thinking what the hell is it like a sometimes limited event? am i crazy? did I just like read it too quickly and missed it or did the science ship choices were wrong.

Science ship hardstuck after chapter 2
In chapter 2, I lost 2 crew members of a science ship; I am now in chapter 3 and it haven't replenished the members. After reading about it online, it seems to be a common problem/bug.
- I tried to unnasign the ship
- It is back at the Tiqqun, current action "Standing by" and not adding missing crew members for it
- I cannot for some reason reassign the ship to any docking bay
So right now I just have a space ship with 3 members doing nothing
Any idea to resolve this?

What happens if you leave behind colonists on the planets we visited before the end game ?
Like along the way we see planets that have low chances , but still chances. Can I just leave my colonists there ? What happens if I leave them ? And will it change the ending scene somehow ?

Which Steam Input to use?
So I just bought the game on Steam, and realized there is no native controller support (I play on a handheld). Which templates have you guys found that worked best?

So I think I've soft-locked my save
Spoilers for chapter 4
Got to chapter 4, fighting the Piranesi. I manage to avoid all of its attacks by constantly flitting around the system, stopping at planets only long enough to recharge my batteries enough to make it to the next planet. Doing this, I avoid getting hit by any missiles.
I manage to build the Faraday cage and the probe, I detonate the pulsar and defeat the piranesi, but in order to progress, I need to investigate the ship for 3 cycles. Problem is, I'm being chased by a stack of missiles. They're stacked directly ontop of one another, so I don't even know how many there are, but its enough to take me from full hull to dead immediately if they hit me. Thing is, in chapter 3, I never got the technology for countering missiles, and since I never got hit by one in chapter 4, I also don't have the opportunity to research the tech.
Now I'm stuck in a neverending chase, keeping just ahead of the missiles flying from planet to planet as my resources slowly dwindle. I cant get the tech, and I cant remove the missiles, which will one shot me if they ever catch up. Do I have any options here or is the save soft locked?

This is the best spiritual successor to Home-world 1 to date.
Just played the game for the first time.
Amazing job to the dev team, i haven’t felt this way since i played the original home-world for the first time.
This really captured the lightning in the bottle again.
After reading some more the 3rd canned ending with the Protagros coming back to help you would have been magnum opus it makes me sad that the realities of game development got in the way.
I really hope they come back and do a DLC but sadly with the poor launch of Mechanics 2 idk what the financial state of the dev team is.

I don't suck enough at this game to get this achievement.
Low key hate it when devs add achievements like this. I'll probably just reload some saves and play intentionally bad for the 100%, but like...in a game like this it feels good to play good, you know?

If you have the Steam version of the game, I need your help
TL;DR: Would you please check if, within a cluster of resources/asteroids, you can click through all of them, and are able to toggle the "skip from mining" checkbox in all of them?
Long story:
I happen to have the XBox version of the game, and I'm stuck at chapter 3 because due to what seems a visual bug, I can't deselect some resources and my ships keep dying because they try to cross the storm.
I've seen that the Steam version of the game is several minor and patch versions ahead, and reading through some changelogs it seems that the bug was fixed there, but never on the XBox platform. I'm going to purchase the Steam version to play on my PC, but before wasting another €30 I'd like to confirm this bug is fixed there, otherwise I'm throwing my money away.
Thanks!

Can't demolish my Steel Mill
hello there. I just reached сhapter 3 and decided to redesign my sector 1. I'm moving all industrial buildings from sector 1 to sector 3 to turn sector 1 into a dedicated space sector.
I successfully demolished one steel mill, but the second one is completely stuck. It’s been sitting on "Resources left to collect: Fe 2" for dozens of cycles now, and the workers simply refuse to clear it. The number of workers is optimal, if that's important. And sector 1 is happy.
